2. » Equilibrium
» Coraline moves to a new house with her parents
everything is fine from what we see and the she finds a
trap door and a doll that looks exactly like her but with
buttons for eyes and the key has a button on the end
of it.
» She then gets through the door and meets her ‘other
family’ its her life but better and more luxurious. The
only thing is that everyone has buttons as eyes.

3. » The disturbance
» The ‘other mother’ then asks Coraline to stay and live
with them, but Coraline refuses. The ‘other mother’
then starts to get angry and locks Coraline in this
world, her look all starts to change apart from her eyes
and everything that was pretty starts to become ugly
etc.

4. » Realisation
» The realisation that Coraline wants to be back
with her old normal family and her old life hits
her and she wants to go back so she ‘takes on’
the ‘other mother’.

5. » Restorted order/ equilibrium again
» In the end she gets out of the other world and
gets back to her old world and she then learns
to love what she has, so a happy ending all
round.

6. » Hero- the central protagonist of
the narrative who drives it
forward and has some kind of
quest to undertake.
» Villain- seeks riches glory and
power to stop the hero
succeeding the mission.
» The helper- accompanies the
hero throughout the quest.
» The mentor- gives the hero help
and advise for their quest.
» The prize- acts like a reward for
the hero after completing the
request.
