2. From the very start of the work on our main task and ancillary task we implemented our
audience feedback into our work.
Whilst in the research and planning stage of our production we handed out
questionnaires in order to get an understanding into our target audience and what
there interest, knowledge and feelings are about our topic of Social Networking.
The questions we asked were ones such as ‘Due you use Social Networking sites?’ in
which 9 out of the 10 people we ask said yes, and the question ‘How many hours per
week do you spend on Social Networking Sites?’ in which the average answer was 5
hours.
This made clear to us that this that Social Networking played a large role in the lives of
the people was asked who were aged between 16 and 19 year old.
The people that we asked in the original small pilot study made it clear to us that the
rise in Social Networking played a large part in people’s lives and reinforced to us
that the top of ‘Social Networking: The Effect’ was the right one.
3. After the creation of the main product and the ancillary tasks we showed them
to our target audience.
We created a questionnaire and screened firstly the documentary to 15
people; all of the people were in the target audience range. We asked a
variety of different questions in order to get a good range of feedback.
We firstly ask ‘On a scale of one to ten, how much did you enjoy our
documentary?’

4. This was good for us as the highest number of people answered with either 9
or 10, overall 11 of the 15 people that we asked about their opinion on the
documentary answered with either 9 or 10 showing that the product we had
created was effective at appealing to its target audience.
The second question that we asked was ‘Does the music work effectively with
the Documentary?’ 80% of the people that we asked said that it didn’t work
effectively; showing to use that it was a largely successful choice and links
in with the previous question of relating to the target audience well.

No
5. The third question that we asked was a open question with a variety of answers, the
question was ‘What did you like about our Documentary?’
With the question there was a large variety of different answers that were given, a large
proportion of the answers linked in with the previous question, noting that they liked
the choice of music that was used, as well as people commenting on the good use of
the voiceover and the overall ordering of the clips within the documentary.
With having such a wide range of answers it showed to use that our documentary
overall was successful and had a positive outcome towards our target audience.
With the questions that we asked, we tried to ask as many open questions as we could
as it allowed us to get the largest range of feedback back to us.
We asked ‘Do you feel you have learnt much from the Documentary?’ the response we
got from this was that 14 out of the 15 people asked said ‘Yes’, also commenting on
how they ‘didn’t realise how big it has got’ and that the facts within the documentary
were ‘well research and informative’.
This for us reinforced to us that we were successful in both educated our target
audience as well as personal praise for the work that we put in also.
6. With two questions that we asked the majority of the answers were
‘Yes’, these were ‘Do you believe there were a wide variety of shots in the
Documentary’ and ‘Did the voiceover work effectively in the documentary?’
All 15 people who were asked this question responded with a ‘Yes’
answer, showing to us that this aspect of the documentary was executed
well and we were successful in creating a professional and informative
product.

7. The final question that we asked within the documentary section of the
questionnaire was ‘Was there anything unique about our documentary?’
This was an important question for us as we believe that this is an important
aspect that will not only attract viewers to watch the documentary but also
keep them interested in it also.
Within the question there was a wide variety of answers, this was something
that was very pleasing for us, one of the main responses was ‘the use of
graphics’ and ‘slick editing’ this was something that we appreciated as
those were parts of our documentary that we took a large amount of time
focussing on.
8. The radio trailer section of the questionnaire was approached just like the documentary
section, the first question that we asked was ‘Did the radio trailer encourage you to
watch documentary?’ 14 out of the 15 people that we asked agreed with this saying
yes, which was encouraging to use showing that it was effective in its use.
We also asked ‘?’ this was also answered with 14 out of the 15 people saying
Yes, showing to use again that the choice of music within our radio trailer was the
correct one and worked effectively and professionally.

9. The final question that we asked in the radio trailer was ‘Did the radio
trailer sound professional?’ this was an important question as the trailer
as a whole relies on the sound, it was important that I was successful
and effective in its persuasion to get people to watch the documentary
and for it to be overall effective.
The overall response to this was good with 80 % of the answer being and
‘Yes’ and having the overall response that it portrayed the documentary
well and encouraged the target audience to watch the documentary
which was what we wanted as a response.

10. With feedback from the radio trailer and from the documentary, we asked
questions about the double page spread in the same sort of manor, this
would allow us to get feedback from our work and see what parts of the
double page spread are effective and professional.
The first question was ‘’Does the article promote the documentary well?’
the overall response to this question was good with the majority of the
15 people that we asked saying that it was.
Does the article promote the
documentary well?
Yes
No
Could be Better
11. The next question that we asked that we asked in this section of the questionnaire
was to do with the overall aesthetics of the magazine article, we asked’ was the
double page spread aesthetically appealing?’ this response to this question was
mixed with 7/15 people saying that it was and others saying that ‘it could be
more colourful’ and the pictures were not that ‘exciting’.
This was an aspect of the magazine that could have been changed but we believe
that it still had a professional aspect to it and still carried across the message of
the documentary and did well to carry the information that we wanted across to
the reader.
The final question that was asked was ‘Does the double page spread link well to
the documentary?’ this was an important question for us as it showed if the
products linked together well or not as this was something that was important
for us to do as it showed if the products were successful or not.
12. The response to this question was good as all of the people that we asked said ‘Yes’
they did link together which is good for us as it shows how we have carried through
aspects from all of products.

Overall I believe that the audience feedback we received helped us throughout all
aspects of creating the products, the allowed up to specifically target our audience
as well as using methods and conventions that are most suited to the viewer. From
the response that we got from the final questionnaire it shows us that we were
successful in the creation of our products and for most of the questions the audience
agreed, showing that our product was informative, professional and overall
successful. The feedback even negative will allow us to change and adapt any future
work that we and I will complete also.
