Taking Steps Through
The Iraq War .

What was the Iraq War?
The Iraq War was an armed conflict in Iraq that
consisted of two phases.
• The first phase consisted of an invasion of
Iraq starting on 20 March 2003 by an invasion
force led by the United States.
• The second phase was a longer phase of
fighting, in which an insurgency emerged to
oppose the occupying forces and the newly
formed Iraqi government
What caused the war?
Many people have different opinions of how the
war started. The main reason the war started
was the governments of the United States
claimed that Iraq's possession of weapons of
mass destruction (WMD) posed a threat to
their security and that of their
coalition/regional aliases .

What was the total cost of the war?
The Bush administration estimated the war would cost $50 to
$60 billion, including the costs of reconstruction and clean
up. As of 2013, the Cost of War Project estimates the war
has cost $1.7 trillion—nearly 30 times the pre-war
estimate. That cost doesn't factor in future costs of
veterans' care, which push the total to more than $2.1
trillion. The Veterans Administration spending related to
Iraq—which totals $45 billion—is almost as much as the
Bush administration's overall cost estimate

Our Opinion of the war?
K’iara – Honestly I think the was pointless , If the
U.S. job was to only go find weapons of mass
destruction and build the trust of the Iraqis
then there shouldn’t have been a war.
