  • 2. Jamaica is an island that belongs to theGreater Antilles in the Caribbean Sea.Kingston is the largest city and capital.Elizabeth II is the Queen of Jamaica but itisn’t a British colony.
  • 3. The Rastafari movement or Rasta is a new religious movement that arose inthe 1930s in Jamaica, which at the time was a country with a predominantlyChristian culture where 98% of the people were the black descendants ofslaves. They believe in Haile Selassie I, Emperor of Ethiopia, as Godincarnate, the Second Advent, or the reincarnation of Jesus.
  • 4. The Jamaican way of cooking is influenced by different cultures, Chinese AfricanBritish Indian ... Among its typical dishes we should mention the Ackee is a fruitthat takes on the flavor of cooked scrambled eggs.• The pepper pot is quimbobo soup and callaloo with grilled meat.•The Bammy is a round bread made ​of cassava, ideal to accompany these dishes.As for drinks should be noted Jamaican rum.• Maria liqueur which is made with coffee liqueur and Jamaican spices, andCaribbean beer , also are made rich exotic juices and smoothies. Although the reggae is the most popular music ofJamaica, this is not alone.Mento is a traditional music of Jamaica, use guitar, banjo anddifferent drums, this is the beginning of ska and reggae. Nextappeared the ska, a mix of jazz, mento and blues. Thenappeared the rock steady and finally the reggae, whichreached the fame whit Bob Nesta Marley, the King of Reggae.
  • 7. •Jamaica is the third largest island in the Caribbean.•it was the first country of America to have the independence.•In the months of August through October is hurricane season and it isquite dangerous.•In Jamaica there aren´t traffic signs or traffic lights and they drive on theleft.•And the most important curiosity:In Jamaica the marihuanna is prohibited since 1913, is legal only the 3 daysof the Rastafarian festival in commemoration with the birth of Bob Marley.
