BACKGROUND• Jan. 3 2012 - The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) new rule prohibiting interstate truck and bus drivers from using hand-held mobile phones comes into effect, impacting about 4 million commercial drivers and 700,000 fleet operators.• Jan.19 – Feb. 6 2012 - ZoomSafer surveys 570 corporate fleet operators, including 407 who represent FMCSA-regulated motor carriers, to gauge reaction to the new rule.Copyright ZoomSafer Inc 2012.
