1. OUTBOUND SIMULATIONS Complete Outdoor Program which takes all the participants through unique set of specially designed activities in which they need to plan, coordinate and execute to sustain, excel and perform. The activity synopsis of the Outbound Simulations Program is as: A. Journey of Discovery: Journey of Discovery is a half day outbound piece that requires the participants to be divided into teams that would need to use linear maps, magnetic compasses and wireless equipment to accomplish predetermined tasks and attain predetermined objectives. Each team is divided into 02 sub‐teams – an advance party and a main body where the advance party is talked to a destination using wireless equipment while only carrying the magnetic compass. The map to the destination is retained by the main body which has to stay at its base until the advance party has sanitized the route to the destination. The route is fraught with challenges where their communication lines can be jammed and the route they are taking could be booby trapped with anti‐ personnel mines. Roles are allocated to various team members who have to fulfill various responsibilities e.g. Signalman (Wireless operator), Sapper (Explosives expert), Scout (Compass reading), Surveyor (Map reading expert) and MO (Medical officer). The success of the entire enterprise will lie on how effectively knowledge has been shared within the team, how clear the communications have been and how well the allocated roles & resources have been managed. A great eye opener. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ © teamACT Training | www.teamact.org | 2008. B. Seek & Destroy: This is a battlefield scenario which gives all participants an opportunity to be heroes and can be adapted into half day, full day or multiple day interventions. The intervention starts with creation of teams which have to create identities for themselves which include team names, team flags, team anthems and a battle cry. Teams will also be given combat fatigues to wear (take aways). Teams will be given a mission that needs to be accomplished. Teams will create strategies to accomplish the task assigned and then make a presentation of their strategies to the panel of instructors who will evaluate the strategies. After the teams have presented their strategies, they would need to put the strategy into action following a format similar to that of Journey of Discovery peppered with armed snipers who will shoot at the attack teams. The scenario will culminate in a final armed skirmish between the teams which will be armed with gas operated shoulder fired dummy weapons which fire .43 or .68 caliber colored gel filled paintballs at a distance of approx. 100 ft. An exceptionally high energy and action packed intervention involving guns, explosives, walkie‐talkies, camouflage & concealment (in a relatively safe and Controlled environment) aimed at delivering an understanding of the need to strategize, leadership, conscious adaptability, realizing potential, backup planning, effective communication, resource utilization, bonding and teamwork. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ © teamACT Training | www.teamact.org | 2008. C. ONE WORLD ( 2 3 hours ) "ONE WORLD ": This is a business simulation that is a combination of mind game as well as physical activity. The scenario talks about the "ONE WORLD FORUM" which in the future has replaced a defunct United Nations. The entire group is divided into small teams representing the leadership of different nations which are members of the "ONE WORLD" forum. Each team starts off with an inheritance of certain resources and relationships. The objective of each country is to arrive as a true "ONE WORLD" nation by the end of the activity while keeping the interests of their own nation secured. The simulation uses a complex matrix of resource allocations and relationships delivered to each team in the form of accounted props and expendables for use during the simulation. This module has the potential to deliver learning in the domains of trust, teamwork, proactive collaboration, breaking the silo mentality and negotiation. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ © teamACT Training | www.teamact.org | 2008.
