Music ReflectionsThemeOut of all the composition that we did for this project, I think I liked the theme the best. Ifeel I work much better when working on something completely original instead of doing avariation or cover. I think the timbre of the violin and the cello work well together and eventhough I first did this theme on a piano, when I transposed it to the violin it sounded muchbetter.
Variation oneThis is my first variation. The thing I liked most about the variation was how the bass lineand melody worked together, most of the time i tried to use counterpoint and I think itworks well with the melody. At first I tried to do it in C but I found it somewhat harderespecially with all the transposing of the flats in this piece.
This is the second variation. Even though it doesnʼt sound a lot like a variation, its probablymy favorite variation. This piece was more spontaneous than anything else, but I tried tokeep it faithful to the original piece by having the bass line completely written from the firstfew lines of the theme, and by keeping certain parts like some of the ascending anddescending parts and by the repetition in the end that is similar to how the theme and therest of the variations end.
Third VariationThis is my third variation. I came up with the idea for this variation when doing my firstvariation but instead of going through with it I decided on the whole alternate bass thing. When doing the third variation I decided to go back to the idea that I came up in the firstvariation. My favorite part is the fast ascending and descending repeating melodic lines. Also this is the variation with the most variety in terms of dynamics
