  • 3. Research InformationI have learnt there is a new emerging source of financing coming from the internet.1 It isstill called crowdfunding, and it involves people pooling their money on the internet to funda particular project. There are a couple of websites competing in this market, with the mostsuccessful one being Kickstarter. Crowdfunding works by entrepreneurs uploading ablueprint for a project unto a website, with a plea for money to complete the project. Thenthe visitors to the website can choose the be micro patrons a donate the the project. Itwould seem that, “People are thrilled to be involved in the creative process and seesomething come to life”2. There have been almost a million unique donors to Kickstarter, the median contribution has been 25 and its most funded product has raised $3,336,371.34Design BriefI would create a video that talked about crowdfunding, and specifically focus onKickstarter. I would talk about its history and also talk about the pros and cons of being adonor, and the pros and cons of attempting to fund your project using Kickstarter. Finally Iwould talk about the future of crowdfunding.Design SpecificationsFunction: Educate people about KickstarterEvaluation: Survey and discussion between Miss Krengal and meSize: 3-5 minutesEvaluation: Use a stopwatchQuality: The spoken sections are clearly audible.
