“550 5.7.1 Unable to relay” error
Solution
Allow relaying for the application

1. Add an IP to Exchange
Configure your exchange server with an additional IP address say: 1.1.1.1

2. Create new Receive Connector
Create a new receive connector listening only to the newly added IP address

3. Allow relaying on this connector
Allow relaying on the just created connector by running

4. Configure the application
Configure you application/webserver to use 1.1.1.1 as SMTP

Do not forget
Change the 1.1.1.1 in these slide by the additional IP you added to your exchange server
Change WebServerIpAddresswith the IP of your Webserver/application
Change MYEXCHANGESERVER by the name of your exchange 2007/2010
Change server.domain.com by the FQDN of your exchange server
