Main Guidelines
6 X 6 on slides
Cover one topic per slide
Use bulleted list for main ideas
No sentences or paragraphs

Main Guidelines
32 pt Font size or larger
Include Intro and Conclusion
Be consistent – Font, Appearance
Use graphics to enhance slides

Font Type
Use Bold and Italic to emphasize main points
Use San Serif fonts – No Tails
Comic Sans
Arial
No Times New Roman or Script
DON’T USE ALL CAPS

Text and Background Color
Use Contrasting Colors
Light Letters / Dark background Check presentations before delivery Dark letters / Light background

Bulleted Lists
Use bullets for main points
Can include sublevels
Items are of equal importance

Use Numbers when showing:
the sequence of events
ranking or order of items
List steps to:
Click the Format menu
Click bullets & numbering

Distraction from main points

Do’s
Have title slide –Topic & your name
Have an Intro and Conclusion
Be consistent with design –fonts, etc.
Rehearse presentation
Ask audience if any questions
Backup if technology is not available
Get audience involved –if possible

Don’ts
Write sentences on slides
Read Slides to audience
Use hard to read text
Over use animation & sound
Make presentation too long
