Georgia lawmakers receive gifts from lobbyists worth thousands
1. An actual photo from the “Wild Hog Supper” thrown by the Friends of
Agriculture Foundation for Georgia lawmakers. It cost $16,393.
2. Earlier this year, lobbyists from the American Federation for Children bought
lawmakers framed photos with former Braves player Jon Smoltz. They actually
cost $75 a picture.
3. The Georgia Association of Manufacturers wined and dined Speaker of the
House David Ralston last month, giving him lodging, breakfast, and dinner for
$335.72.
4. The University System of Georgia gave Representative Earl Ehrhart a seat at the
Kennesaw State University vs. Mercer basketball game in February (it cost $10.00).
5. The Georgia World Congress Authority treated Senate Majority Leader Chip
Rogers to five tickets ($250.00) to a Monster Jam event at the Georgia Dome.
