Revelation Global makes apps formarket researchers who conductonline qualitative studies.Our CEO had four major design goalsbased on client feedback about must-havefeatures and a strategy to stay ahead of thecompetition.A more social experience for study participants• A browsing experience that encourage participants to• view other people’s responsesA visual design light enough to allow client to white-label• the product with their own brandingA full-featured mobile app for use in“mobile only”studies• Revelation Global, Inc.We needed to offer mobile as a stand aloneproduct, so we started there and translatedthe core interactions and visual style over tothe web app.I worked closely with 2 in-house developersand a development agency on themobile web and iOS from initial conceptto production and release. Deliverablesincluded wireframes, userflows, UI styleguides, and custom icons.The mobile and web apps look and feel lightyears ahead of competitor offerings. Users can manually save drafts to close out theactivity and save their work. They get a toast messagefor that as well and are taken back to the To-Do’s list.7. If users lose their connection they get this toastmessage so they know they can keep working. Theapp must save the content locally and upload it tothe server once the connection is reestablished.8. Responses that include a large video or photo uploador situation that affect the devices data connectionmay cause responses to not be sent to the serverinstantly. In this case, the submitted activity takes a“Pending”label but goes into Completed because it’sdone as far as the user is concerned.9. In completed responses, the stimuli are removed, butthe descriptions added to collectors and any contentadded to the collector by the user remains.10. Users can go back to completed responses andrespond to comments by other users if the activityis shared or a discussion activity. Users can also likeother people’s responses by tapping the like icon.Once tapped it goes into the pressed state.11. Users can submit a completely blank response, butthey get a warning modal.12. If users tap“Back”and go back to the To-Do’s list, theapp saves their draft13. Upon opening the app, users sign in using thetemporary password and the email address from theiremail invite. If they use the wrong email or passwordthey get error messages.2. Users hit“Back”to return to the Sign-in screen andget sign-out of the system.3. Users must create a new password. If they hit Sign-up without doing so, they get the“Passwords mustbe at least 6 characters”error message. If they don’ttype in the password correctly in both fields they get“Passwords do not match”toast.4. Users can upload an avatar image from their galleryor snap a picture on the spot.   6. “Fit for Flight”is Red Bull’semployee wellness onlinecommunity. Its mission isto make getting fit fun andchallenging for employees.I was sub-contracted to envision an iterationof the website that incorporated an easyand fast way to challenge oneself andother staff and keep track of ranking andaccomplishments in a leaderboard.Red BullI created wireframes for frequent users,new users, challenge creation and theleaderboard.I also created a user flow diagram to showhow employees would move through theexperience focusing on the most importantuse: using challenges to compete forranking and medals.6Zaid Hisham

At Adaptive Path’s UX Intensive,four days interaction designwork resulted in a tabletapplication for guests of a full-service boutique hotel.We spent one day distilling the informationwe had gathered during the workshop anddeveloped design principles for the product.The application and the was supposed tobe as helpful and as knowledgeable aboutthe user’s needs and room service as a goodconcierge in a small exclusive hotel.Student work - Adaptive Path - UX IntensiveI sketched an interface that let users controland customize their hotel stay - everythingfrom lighting and room temperature toscheduling spa treatments and meals.The“concierge”part of the service woulddevelop over time as the system trackedthe user’s in-room purchases and habits.Eventually the user would return to thehotel to find their room and servicepreferences preset to their liking as theyenter the room.18Zaid Hisham
