  • Hi! My name is Zach. I am going to show you some of the different kinds of equipment that people with disabilities use. Sometimes it’s hard to do the things we really love to do. But we don’t say “I can’t do it!” We figure out other ways to make it happen! Here are some examples of the different equipment we use.
  • This is a wheelchair like the one I use to get around. I have cerebral palsy, or CP. My muscles don’t work well. It makes it hard for me to walk, so I use this wheelchair.
  • This is a walker. Someone who walks but needs a little extra help would use this.
  • These are called braces, or AFOs. They provide support when a person is walking.
  • This is a bowling ramp. I use one to help me bowl.
  • If someone has an accident of some kind, and they lose an arm or a leg, they can use a prosthetic arm or leg.
  • This is a hand cycle. If you want to ride a bike but your legs don’t work, you can use a hand cycle.
  • This is a ramp van. People in wheelchairs can drive their wheelchair right up the ramp and into the van.
  • This is a sit ski. This is the one I use to ski in. And here are some pictures of people using the equipment to do the things they really love to do.
