About Us • Formed in August, 1969 with an aim to create a strong and efficient marketing infrastructure by setting up modern markets for agriculture and horticulture production. • The primary objective is to set up a marketing infrastructure for better regulation of 22 • The primary objective is to set up a marketing infrastructure for better regulation of the purchase, sale, storage and processing of agricultural produce. • Grew from 58 to 107 Market Committees, 58 to 178 Sub yards and 60 to 193 Purchase Centers. • Engaged in multifarious activities for farming community and rural development such as constructing / modernizing agricultural marketing infrastructure, rural roads , rural stadiums, model villages and especially a cold chain network throughout the state. • Earning approx Rs. 525 crores per annum. Likely to increase at the pace of 20-30% annually.

Integrate and professionalize delivery of agricultural services and get better value for the farmer's produce. Facilitate diversification of crops and promote judicious and profitable use of land resources. Introduce knowledge and technology based interventions. Develop quality control and standards in agriculture Sector. Introduce processing for all types of Horticulture produce to add value and reduce post harvest losses (25% to 40%) to bare minimum for 75% to 100% realization of produce. 4
