Meanwhile… Austin had taken itself out of the economic development “game” Austin Chamber’s economic development funds were being diverted for operations – annual funding for economic development was $500,000 Chamber’s website for site selection and business relocation/expansion was “under construction”. . . for over 5 years Chamber had one full-time staff member focused on economic development A City employee skipped a meeting with a major auto manufacturer
