Strike action often simply called a strike, is a work stoppage caused by the mass refusal employees to perform work. A strike usually take place in response to employee grievance.
Strikes became important during the industrial revolution when mass labour become important in factories and mines. In most countries, they were quickly made illegal, as factory owner had far more political power then workers. Most western countries partially legalized striking in the late 19 th or early 20 th century.
AIM OF STRIKES
Strikes are mostly used to put pressure on the government or the top management to change policies or fulfill their demands.
It can be anything like for increasing their salary or for bonus or for facilities related to workplace, etc.
TYPES OF STRIKES
Sit down strike:- Workers refusing to attend work or picketing outside the workplace to prevent or dissuade people from working in their place or conducting business with their employer.
Student strike:- Students not attending schools. Unlike other strikes, the target of the protest does not suffer a direct economical loss to the institution.
Hunger strike:- It is a deliberate refusal to eat. Hunger strikes are often used in prisons as a form of political protest. It aims to worsen the public image of the target.

Teachers & staff of universities of M.P going on strike.
Strike of truck operators.
Strikes cause economic loss, creates environment of distrust among people & affects the working of government also. It should be banned for smooth functioning of the organization & development of the nation.
