Widget Developer Kit 1.2.15 Update

Installation & Configuration
This update comes with a pre-configured generic Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS VM, to simplify the installation and configuration process.
The VM admin password is “password”.
Automatic system updates are disabled by default.

Configurations Supported
We have tested this VM with WDK 1.2.15 on the following environments:
Windows 7:
VMware Free Player 3.1.1
VMware Workstation 7.1
VirtualBox 3.2.8
Mac OS 10.6.4
VMware Fusion 3.1
VirtualBox 3.2.8
Other versions and configurationshave not been tested by Yahoo!

System Improvements
The engine version is now 5.6.2 which is based on the firmware that the majority of our device partners will be pushing to their TVs in 2011.
The Simulator now interfaces to the engine in a more similar way to how it is done on an actual OEM device. This provides a closer TV simulation environment (although there is still no TV signal simulation).

Extended List of Simulation Modes
One new Toshiba simulation mode.
5 different Samsung simulation modes.

Accessibility Improvements
The Application Menu has been simplified for easier access.
All documentation is now via URL links, instead of some PDFs.
