  • If you are not already familiar with them, Ted talks are one the best free available resources. Talks on various topics… from leadership, to business practices, to personal development issues – like trust and happiness and all are under 20 minutes
One of my favorite TED talks is this one –
View first 5 minutes (encourage to watch the rest when you get home) Then explore the implications of the golden circle on business development
  • Encourage to watch the rest of the video

Martin Luther King – lots of other “civil rights activists” – why was he successeful? He shared his beliefs and his dreams – “ I have dream…” He inspired people with his why.

The golden circle is a mirror of how our brain operates – Sometimes we know all the facts and figures of a situation, the what and how - the why is our gut feeling – the part of our brain responsible for decisions.
  • Once you your why, who are going to tell it to?

    Volunteers:
Acting with cue cards for actors Networking – Get cups for drinks
    I’m a banker – 2 CPAS – “I do tax returns. I’m a CPA”
“I empower my clients, by giving them financial knowledge to run their companies. I inspire my clients to grow and development their companies. I’m a CPA.”
^Can be used for future clients and current clients!

    Yourself – bring a pillow / blanket
Wake Up – why are you getting out bed every morning
“I’m waking up to answer e-mails” “I’m waking up to make a difference in my client’s business and lives.”

When you have a “Why” – it’s your source for motivation, inspiration, confidence, purpose and aids in decision-making
  • Share two circle examples
    - One to give to a friend

If more knew how to build organizations that inspire, we could live in a world in which that statistic was the reverse - a world in which over 80 percent of people loved their jobs. People who love going to work are more productive and more creative. They go home happier and have happier families. They treat their colleagues and clients and customers better. Inspired employees make for stronger companies and stronger economies.” Simon Sinek, Start with Why: How Great Leaders Inspire Everyone to Take Action 5
