  • Preliminary remarks: This deck is for the use of Microsoft Sales Force for 1:1 or 1:many first high level discussion on the Government Performance Management Solution Area topic. It is targeted to Technical Decision Maker or Business Decision Maker discussions. A lot of materials are available in the back-up slides so that you can configure the presentation to your customer’s specific needs. Basic definition that you might want to explain to the customers: Solution Area: Microsoft’s approach for delivering on customer , partner , and analyst defined business needs in the market place, consisting of a configuration of Microsoft and/or partner technologies.  Solution Areas are primarily sold and delivered through partners (ISV and SI), and serve to drive pull-through and adoption of the MS platform and infrastructure stack. All Solution Areas are delivered to market through Industry oriented sales and marketing motions.  Cross-industry solution areas, which by definition land in multiple sectors and industries and offer economies of scale in build out and support, only land in the field and with customers through Industry motions. Solution: There is no official definition and we recommend that you bring as much clarity as possible when engaging a discussion around a specific solution. A solution can mean many different things: an application, a custom developed application, an ISV developed application, a functionality… In most of the cases Solutions are Partner led and based on Microsoft Technologies. Partner: We need to be clear that we go to Market thru and with Partners that develop applications with our technologies. We support this ecosystem of Partners thru various programs which are made available to the public (see details at https://partner.microsoft.com ). The solutions are usually owned, developed, deployed and maintained by partners.
