  • 2. RICHARD CURTIS This is Richard Curtis, one of the leading romantic comedy writers in Britain. His resume includes:  Love Actually  Four Weddings and a Funeral  Notting Hill He notes in an interview that he likes ‘a lot of plots’ within a film – which is why Love Actually has so many characters, all in some way connected. His use of British actors, including Hugh Grant, Emma Thompson and Colin Firth.

NANCY MEYERS Nancy Meyers is one of the most successful female American director, recently winning an Oscar for her film: It’s Complicated. Other than It’s Complicated, she has written and produced:  The Holiday  Something’s Gotta Give She has always had some aspects of romance in all of her films, going back to The Parent Trap in 1998. The Holiday (2008) was another of Meyer’s successes, featuring big name actors, it grossed $63 million at the box office. She is the highest grossing female director. In 2009 she was considered to be the most powerful female director
