  2. 2. APG A STORY OF SOUND… PHILOSOPHY TECHNOLOGY INCREASING DEMAND ON SOUND QUALITY PRODUCT RANGE " Due to major changes in the recording industry, live performance has once again taken a very important place in the music industry. Today’s artists are often moving from studio to stage and back again far more frequently than in the past, and are expecting to find, in their live performance, if not the exact sound of their records, then certainly the wellbalanced, detailed sound of top quality studio reproduction. Digital technologies have increased the performance quality of hi-fi installations at home and in the car, as well as of personal players, thus generating a demand for improved sound quality in concert halls. Sound professionals are facing the challenge of satisfying clients on both sides of the stage: providing the artists with the best conditions for the expression of their talents as well as displaying the musical shading of a live show for the audience. The new generation of APG products is the result of a thorough knowledge of performance in sound reproduction. Sonic quality is not a subjective notion when considering criteria such as phase, bandwidth, frequency response linearity, and all non distortion-related criteria. These fundamental considerations have been taken into account and allow APG products to combine work with pleasure every time an APG sound system powers into action. The demands of professional users are constantly evolving toward products that combine high sonic performance and sophisticated ergonomics that enable them to handle all the constraints imposed by the site with no compromise in performance or handling.. As has been the case for quite some years now, APG continues to provide answers and solutions to these issues, with passion and objectivity, and as always, with no compromise. It is our ambition to contribute to the technical evolution of our industry, but always with the artistic side of our work in sight." Grégory Dapsanse
  3. 3. A STORY OF SOUND… WE HEAR WHAT YOU SAY... From its beginnings in 1978, APG has forged itself a solid reputation in the industry of professional sound reinforcement THE APG SOUND systems. At the beginning, a handful of people, passionate about music and audio, launched a project of integrated and tailor-made sound systems. The acoustic and electronic competences of the team and their fierce determination to build high quality, “no-compromise” products have quickly resulted in a range PHILOSOPHY of professional speakers, fully adapted to the specific needs of users in the world of live sound, fixed installations, theatres, clubs, TV shows, sport venues and more.. The superlative sound quality of APG loudspeakers has APG’s ambition is to develop ultra-efficient products optimized to the smallest detail in every domain: electro-acoustic, quickly positioned the brand among the leaders in the ergonomics, size/weight/performance ratio, reliability, modularity, simplicity and design. market. The history of APG is full of innovative product Today’s product range is the result of long experience and a rigorous scientific approach to the fields of acoustics, developments that have marked generations of users. electronics and mechanics. APG carries out a “no-compromise” R & D policy, which aims to provide the highest degree of reliability and sound quality, for every product. Concept APG is extremely focused on everything that can make life easier for our users, and helps them to provide exceptional sound reinforcement for their customers day after day, year after year. History and evolution of the product range This becomes possible when you combine a high level of scientific and technical knowledge with a desire to listen to, respect and take into account the needs and constraints of those who, every day, load in, set-up, install, integrate, tune, and use our systems and must make them profitable. 1982 : Mobile 2 (MB2) 2004 : APG6000 Our technical collaborations are the practical realization of this approach: at each crucial step of the product development, First compact full range speaker First line source matrix system APG consults recognized experts in their disciplines to participate in the optimization and validation of performance Market leader in France that started the “compact” trend Collinear and IsotopTM technologies, dual directivity control criteria. 1984 : Micro 2 (MC2) 2006 : TB218S First satellite speaker based on a 6.5” driver with Appolito's baffle. 4. 4. TECHNOLOGY PRODUCT RANGE If the words « audiophile » and « high fidelity » were not so overused, they would perfectly describe the sonic experience "A complete set of high performance solutions" delivered by APG speakers. Since its inception in 1978, our products and services have been aimed at providing solutions for rental companies, The APG range is developed around three technologies: Isotop™ , coaxial, and d’Appolito and is organized in eight series installers and professional users. of speakers whose common thread is sonic purity. A real passion for sound combined with a strict scientific rigour, is the foundation for the extended range of products which has forged the reputation of the legendary “APG sound”. Achieving acoustical transparency, minimum distortion, reliable driver protection and performance consistency, impose a no-compromise choice of components. APG works closely with a select group of prestigious transducer manufacturers, Coaxial Technology who are capable of guaranteeing the strict manufacturing tolerances induced by the development criteria. Final tuning and proofing of the system is conducted by our beta-testers in real-world situations. Coaxial technology consists of two loudspeakers on the same diffusion axis, thus resulting in linearity for both amplitude and phase curves and in a The APG range is entirely devoted to the professionals of the industry. The D’Appolito principle is used in the MICRO series and the Matrix Array technology. The Isotop™ technology equips all FOH systems in Matrix Array, Isoline, Beam Series & A comprehensive line of SUBWOOFERS provides accurate low frequency reinforcement for the various types of sound and Sector Series. the required coverage in the given configurations. The D'Appolito Baffle The D’Appolito baffle enables directivity control without the use of a horn. The directivity is controlled lower down in the frequency range while limiting the distortion and the diffractions caused by a physical horn. Furthermore, the close coupling of the two transducers affords a significant gain in efficiency. K-Horn Technology K-Horn technology is a complex acoustic load designed for subwoofers and low frequency speakers. It consists of loading a double interactive chamber with a K-horn. This exclusive technology provides a significant increase in gain, between 4 and 6 dB, compared to the conventional bass reflex load and direct radiation. This technology has been designed for the new generation "TB" subwoofer family.
