    Notes on slide 1

I-Zone is an example of were we want to innovate in innovation. We want to use Cisco’s size and scale to our advantage. So we plan to use the “Wisdom of Crowds” identified by James Surowiecki (where the opinions of a diverse and connected many are superior to the ideas of a disconnected few) to tap into the great ideas that we know exist within the greater Cisco family. So we’ve created a Wiki which we call the Idea Zone (or I-Zone) where anyone can propose an idea for a new product or business unit. We think that the best ideas come from those that are working directly with customers—so we’re asking for your help. We need your ideas to create a pipeline of ideas. Please log on to the ETG website and browse the I-Zone Wiki. As a Wiki anyone can create an idea, comment on, or modify someone else’s ideas. We review this on a weekly basis and use this as the source of all of our potential investments. If your idea is adopted, we will ask you if you’d like an opportunity to join us and work on bringing this idea to market!
