1. Getting Started a. What is XBLOCKR? XBLOCKRTM is an effective mobile phone application designed to protect your privacy from unwanted calls. XBLOCKR has all the options that will help you avoid unwanted calls or calls that you do not want to answer with great ease. b. How to download XBLOCKR? To download XBLOCKR, you can do one of the following: 1. Visit www.xblockr.com and download the XBLOCKR.apk file on to your system. 2. Get the XBLOCKR.apk file transferred to your phone via cable. or 3. Directly download the XBLOCKR.apk file into your mobile phone through your phone browser. c. How to install XBLOCKR in your phone? To install XBLOCKR: 1. Go to Android Market and install AppsInstaller (this is a free application that helps install non-market apps). 2. Go to Menu > Settings > Applications > Unknown Sources 3. Check "Unknown Sources" to allow install of non-Market applications. 4. Run AppsInstaller. You should see ActionComplete in the list of the applications ready to be installed 5. Tap ActionComplete. The installation process should commence.. Using first time XBLOCKR in your ANDROID: 1. Press the Application menu key. 2. You should see XBLOCKR in the list. 3. Press (trackball) to select XBLOCKR. 4. Press Agree to accept the EULA. d. How to locate XBLOCKR in your phone? To locate XBLOCKR in your phone: 1. Press the Application menu key. 2. Navigate to XBLOCKR by scrolling and tap the XBLOCKR icon to view XBLOCKR main menu . copyright@2009 – 2012 ‐ XBLOCKR Page 5

e. How to check the number of trials left for XBLOCKR? To purchase XBLOCKR visit: http://www.xblockr.com and buy it online from there. To check the number of trials: 1. Press Application menu key on your phone. You should see XBLOCKR in the list. 2. Tap XBLOCKR icon. 3. In the XBLOCKR main Screen, tap on About. 4. Tap Application menu key. 5. 6. You should see the number of trials left as shown in the image below: f. How to activate XBLOCKR? To purchase XBLOCKR visit: http://www.xblockr.com and buy it online from there. To activate XBLOCKR: 1. Press Application menu key on your phone. You should see XBLOCKR in the list. 2. Tap XBLOCKR icon. 3. In XBLOCKR main Screen, tap on About. 4. Tap Application menu key. 5. 6. Tap “Yes” to Activate now or “No” to activate later: If you have made the payment, your XBLOCKR should get activated. 2. Ducking an Incoming Call a. What does it mean to duck an incoming call? When you duck an incoming call, you disconnect the call. If you have configured your voice mail box, the caller reaches your voice mail box or the caller hears an automated message depending on the operator. For example, you get a call and you do not want to answer. However, you may want to allow the caller to get in touch with you later. In such a situation, you can duck the call at that moment. b. How to duck an incoming call? When you get an incoming call, on your mobile screen, you should see three options to duck the call as shown in the image below: copyright@2009 – 2012 ‐ XBLOCKR Page 8

Duck – This option allows you to duck or disconnect an incoming call instantly and only for that particular moment. The next time you get an incoming call from the same number, you may have to duck or disconnect again. Duck Always – This option allows you to disconnect the call and store the number to the Ducked Numbers list (To learn more, see: Using Number Lists). When you store a number to the Ducked Numbers list, every time you get a call from that number, the call gets disconnected automatically. Duck With SMS – This option allows you to disconnect the call and automatically send a customized message to the caller. (To learn how to set a customized message, see: Setting Preferences) For example, your manager calls you and you cannot take his call. In such a situation when you choose the Duck with SMS option, the call gets disconnected and simultaneously a customized message is sent to your manager saving a lot of your time and effort. To duck an incoming call: 1. Scroll left or right to navigate to any of the options to duck a call. 2. Tap on icon to select the option of your choice. c. How to add a particular number to the Ducked Numbers list after the call? If you pick up a call and want to disconnect all calls from that number in future, you can choose to add the number to the Ducked Numbers list. (To learn more, see: Using Number Lists) For example, you get a call from a number that you do not know. You pick up the call and realize it is a call from an intruding sales personnel. After you hang up, you can store his number to the Ducked Numbers list to duck his calls in future. copyright@2009 – 2012 ‐ XBLOCKR Page 9

After you are done with your call, you should see the options on your mobile screen as shown in the image below: To add a particular number to the Ducked Numbers list after the call, do the following: 1. Tap the Duck Always option. The incoming number gets stored in the Ducked Numbers list and every time you get a call from that number, the call gets disconnect automatically. Note: You should see XBLOCKR options after the call only for the numbers which are not there in your contact list. 3. Dropping an Incoming Call a. What does it mean to drop an incoming call? When you drop an incoming call, the call gets automatically picked up for a second and gets disconnected instantly. The behavior is just like how the caller feels when there is a network error. The caller will not hear any automated voice messages from the operator. For example, you get calls from an intruder and you are completely irritated. b. How to drop an incoming call? When you get an incoming call, on your mobile screen, you should see two options to drop the call as shown in the image below: Drop – This option automatically picks up the call for a second and disconnects the call instantly for that particular moment. The next time you get an incoming call from the same number, you may have to drop the call again. Drop Always – This option automatically picks up a call for a second, disconnects the call instantly and stores the number to the Dropped Numbers list. When you store a number to the Dropped Number list, every time you get a call from that number, the call gets picked up and disconnected automatically. (To learn more, see: Using Number Lists) To drop an incoming call: 1. Scroll left or right to navigate to any of the options to drop a call. 2. Tap on icon to select the option of your choice. c. How to add a particular number to Dropped Numbers list after the call? If you pick up a call and want to automatically drop the call in future, you can choose to add the number to the Dropped Numbers list. (To learn more, see: Using Number Lists) For example, you get a call from an intruding caller. You pick up the call and realize it is someone who you want to avoid without any intimation. After you hang up, you can store his number to the dropped number list to avoid his calls in future. To add a particular number to the Dropped Numbers list after the call, do the following: 1. Tap the Drop Always option. The incoming number gets stored in the Dropped Numbers list and every time you get a call from that number, the call gets picked up for a second and disconnected automatically. Note: You should see XBLOCKR options after the call only for the numbers which are not there in your contact list. 4. DUCKING AN INCOMING SMS a. What is SMS DUCKING? Once ducked, the SMS will not be shown up in the Inbox, neither you will get the SMS notification. All Ducked SMS are stored inside the XBLOCKR folder in the default messaging application of the phone, in case you want to retrieve them at a later date. b. How to DUCK an incoming SMS? If you want to duck a SMS from a particular number, you can add that number in the DUCKED SMS NUMBERS list. Every time you receive a SMS from that number, the SMS is stored in the XBLOCKR folder. copyright@2009 – 2012 ‐ XBLOCKR Page 12

5. Using Number Lists a. What is a number list? A number list helps you store all phone numbers. For example, you can store numbers that you want to disconnect, divert to a predefined phone number or allow when you are in Do Not Disturb mode. b. What are the types of number lists? There are 4 types of number lists: Special Numbers: This list allows you to store numbers that you want to allow when you are in Do Not Disturb mode. (To learn more, see Using the Do Not Disturb Option). Ducked Numbers: This list allows you to store numbers that you want to disconnect all the time. Dropped Numbers: This list allows you to store numbers that you want to automatically pick up for a second and disconnect all the time. Ducked SMS Numbers: In case you do not wish to receive a SMS from a particular sender next time onwards, you can add the sender to this number list. c. How to view numbers? To view numbers: 1. Press application menu key on your phone. 2. Locate XBLOCKR in the list of applications and Tap on XBLOCKR icon. 3. In the XBLOCKR main menu, navigate to the Number List option by scrolling to the top or bottom. 4. Tap on Number List. 5. Navigate to the number list of your choice and tap to view the numbers. d. How to add a number to a number list? To add a number to a number list: 1. Press Application menu key on your phone. 2. You should see XBLOCKR in the list. Tap XBLOCKR icon. 3. In the XBLOCKR main menu, navigate to the Number List option by scrolling to the top or bottom. 4. Tap on Number List. 5. Navigate to the number list of your choice tap it. For example, Special Numbers is selected in the image shown below: 6. You should see the following options: a. Add - This option allows you to manually enter a phone number. b. Add from Contact - This option allows you to add a number from your contact list. You can add more than one number at once from your contact list. c. Add from Call Log - This option allows you to add a number from your Call Logs. d. Add Unknown/Private Number – This option allows you to add unknown or private number i.e. the number without a caller identification. The options are shown in the image below for the Special Numbers list: 7. Navigate to the option of your choice and tap to add the number. 8. e. How to delete a number from a number list? To delete a number from a number list: 1. Press Application menu key on your phone. 2. You should see XBLOCKR in the list. Tap XBLOCKR icon. 3. In the XBLOCKR main menu, navigate to the Number List option by scrolling to the top or bottom. 4. Tap on Number List. 5. Navigate to the number list of your choice and tap it. You should see the following options:  Delete - This option allows you to manually select and delete a number.  Delete All - This option allows you to delete all the numbers in a specific number list. 6. Tap to the option of your choice to delete the number. 6. DUCKED SMS Number Lists a. What is a Ducked SMS Number list? A Ducked SMS number list helps you store all phone numbers and sender IDs from whom you do not want to receive a SMS. b. How to view Ducked SMS Numbers? To view numbers: 1. Press Application menu key on your phone. 2. You should see XBLOCKR in the list. Tap XBLOCKR icon. copyright@2009 – 2012 ‐ XBLOCKR Page 16

3. In the XBLOCKR main menu, navigate to the Number List option by scrolling top or bottom. 4. Tap on Number List. You should see the different number lists as shown in the image below: 5. Navigate to the Ducked SMS number list option and tap Ducked SMS numbers. c. How to add a Number/Sender ID to a Ducked SMS Number list? To add a number/Sender ID to a number list: 1. Press Application menu key on your phone. 2. You should see XBLOCKR in the list. Tap XBLOCKR icon. 3. In the XBLOCKR main menu, navigate to the Number List option by scrolling top or bottom. 4. Tap on Number List. 5. Navigate to Ducked SMS number list option and tap Ducked SMS numbers. copyright@2009 – 2012 ‐ XBLOCKR Page 17

1. Press application menu key. You should see the following options:  Duck - This option allows you to manually enter a phone number.  Duck from Contact - This option allows you to add a number from your contact list. You can add more than one number at once from your contact list.  Duck from Inbox – This option allows you to add a number or sender ID from your Inbox i.e. the numbers/senders from which you have received a SMS.  Duck from Call logs - This option allows you to add a number from the call logs. The options are shown in the image below for the Ducked SMS Numbers list: 2. Navigate to the option of your choice and tap to add the number. 3. If you want to add a number from the Inbox select the “Add from Inbox” option and you can select the number from the list shown as below: copyright@2009 – 2012 ‐ XBLOCKR Page 18

d. How to View Ducked SMS To view the Ducked SMS select “View Ducked SMS” option under the Ducked SMS Number list options. This will list all the SMS which have been received from the Numbers stored in the Ducked SMS Numbers. e. How to delete a Number/Sender from a Ducked SMS Number list? To delete a number from a Ducked SMS number list: 1. Press Application menu key on your phone. copyright@2009 – 2012 ‐ XBLOCKR Page 19

2. You should see XBLOCKR in the list. Tap XBLOCKR icon. 3. In the XBLOCKR main menu, navigate to the Number List option by scrolling top or bottom. 4. Tap on Number List. 5. Navigate to the Ducked SMS number list option and tap Ducked SMS numbers. 6. Press application menu key. You should see the following options:  Un-Duck - This option allows you to manually select and delete a number or a sender.  Un-Duck All - This option allows you to delete all the numbers and senders in the Ducked SMS number list. 7. 7. Using the Do Not Disturb Option a. What is the Do Not Disturb option? The Do Not Disturb option ducks all incoming calls, except the numbers added to the Special Numbers List. (To learn more, see: Using Number Lists) b. How to enable the Do Not Disturb option? To enable the Do Not Disturb option: 1. Press Application menu key on your phone. 2. You should see XBLOCKR in the list. Tap XBLOCKR icon. 3. In the XBLOCKR main menu, scroll top or bottom to navigate to the Do Not Disturb option. The Do Not Disturb option is selected in the image below: 4. 5. Tap Yes. You should see the Do Not Disturb option enabled as shown below: Note: To disable the Do Not Disturb option, tap Do Not Disturb again. 8. Setting Preferences a. What preferences can be set? XBLOCKR gives you options to set preferences to:  Specify the XBLOCKR options that need to display when you get an incoming call.. copyright@2009 – 2012 ‐ XBLOCKR Page 22

b. How to set preferences? To specify the XBLOCKR options that need to display when you get an incoming call: 1. In the XBLOCKR main menu, scroll to the top or bottom to navigate to the Settings options. 2. Tap Settings to make the selection. You should see the following options: Duck Settings - This option allows you show or hide the different options to duck a call as shown in the image below: copyright@2009 – 2012 ‐ XBLOCKR Page 23

All the options to duck an incoming call (as shown in the image above) that are checked get displayed, when you get an incoming call. The options you un-check will not be displayed, when you get an incoming call. You can enter a customized message for Duck with SMS option in the SMS Body field. (Also see: Ducking an Incoming Call) If you have earlier un-ckecked With SMS option, then you check the option you should see a message as shown in the image below: Drop Settings- This option allows you to show or hide the different options to drop a call as shown in the image below: copyright@2009 – 2012 ‐ XBLOCKR Page 24

All the options to drop an incoming call (as shown in the image above) that you checked get displayed, when you get an incoming call. The options you have un- checked will not be displayed, when you get an incoming call. (Also see: Dropping an Incoming Call) 9. Removing XBLOCKR To remove XBLOCKR: 1. In your ANDROID phone, go to Settings > Applications> Manage applications. 2. Scroll through the list and select XBLOCKR. 3. Now select Uninstall button and then taop OK button. Note: You may be asked to confirm your selection. You may also have to restart your ANDROID phone after removing the program. 10. Miscellaneous To read about XBLOCKR: 1. Press Application menu key on your phone. 2. You should see XBLOCKR in the list. Tap XBLOCKR icon. 3. In the XBLOCKR main menu, navigate to the About option by scrolling top or bottom. 4. Tap on About to view the information as shown in the image below: To access instructions to use XBLOCKR in your phone: 1. You should see the information as shown in the image below: 11. Troubleshooting a. Why XBLOCKR is not installing? 1. Go to Menu > Settings > Applications > Unknown Sources 2. Check "Unknown Sources" to allow install of non-Market applications. 3. Check if you have correct apk file that is compatible with your device. 4. Check whether you have sufficient free memory to install XBLOCKR, if this is the case free your phone memory and try to install. b. When I get an incoming call, I do not see the XBLOCKR options. What do I do? 1. Check whether all the settings are un-checked, if yes then check them (To learn more, see Setting Preferences) 2. Check if the number is in the Special Numbers list. XBLOCKR Terminology 1B  Duck – Disconnect for the moment.  Duck Always – Disconnect all the time.  Duck & SMS – Disconnect the call and send a message to the caller.  Ducked SMS – Block the SMS from a number or a sender.  Drop - Pick the call for a second and disconnect for the moment.  Drop Always – Pick the call for a second and disconnect every time a call comes from a particular number.  Number List – A list of all phone numbers that you have stored  Do Not Disturb – A mode where all incoming numbers can be ducked except for special numbers.  Special Numbers – A list of all numbers that you want to allow when in Do Not Disturb mode. copyright@2009 – 2012 ‐ XBLOCKR Page 28
