The World Top 20 Education Poll goal is to set a Global Standard to annually monitor the educational development of 260 nation’s education systems - from early childhood enrollment to college graduation rates – to assure every child is, afforded the opportunity to reach their full potential.

The Poll’s data will be gathered from 5 international organizations that provide annual and bi-annual reports. The data will then be analyzed by the New Jersey Minority Educational Development (NJMED) organization; who will publish a list of the top 20 nations, after they receive confirmation from each nations Ministry of Education Department, to assure the data is accurate.

The Poll’s ranking system is calculated by compiling the data from 5 phases, and ranked 1 thru 20. Consisting of 20 points for 1st place and 1 point for a twenty rank, and then combined for the nation’s total score.

  • The World Top 20 Education Poll (WT20EP) provides annual international rankings of thetop 20 education systems out of 260 nations. Each country’s ranking is based on fiveeducational levels: early-childhood enrollment rates, Elementary Math, Science andReading scores, Middle-School Math, Science and Reading scores, High SchoolGraduation rates, and College Graduation rates. Each level consists of ranking the top 20countries by giving a country 20 points for a first place rank, 19 for a second place rank,and so on down to 1 point for a twenty rank. The data is then used to produce the nation’sranking from a statistical average based on a combined score from all 5 levels.The poll’s statistical data is compiled from 6 international organizations - the Organisationfor Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), Programme for InternationalStudent Assessment (PISA), the United Nation’s Economic and Social Council(UNESOC), The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), the Trends in InternationalMathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) and Progress in International Reading Study(PIRLS). And then send to each countries Ministry of Education Department to assure thedata is accurate.The World Top 20 Education Poll mission is to serve as a single body to oversee everychild is afford the opportunity to reach their full potential; by working with nations tostrengthen their education system. The poll’s creator, the New Jersey Minority EducationalDevelopment (NJMED) organization, is also the programmer for the 100% GraduationRate Program, which works with hardest to reach student population, at-risk minoritymales, in the United States. The 100% Graduation Rate Program raised high schoolgraduation’s by 49% in one of the U.S. poorest and most violence cities, Camden, NewJersey, from 1996 to 2006.
