I have always assumed – like, I imagine, most people – that the high cost of hardbacks is down to the fact that they are much more expensive than paperbacks to produce. But in fact this isn't the case at all.
Blah blahblahblahBlahblahblahblahBlah blahblahblahBlahblahblahblahBlahblahblahblahBlah blahblahblahBlahblahblahblahblahblahblahBlahblahblahblahBlah blahblahblahBlahblahblahblahBlahblahblahblahBlah blahblahblahBlahblahblahblahblahblahblahBlah
Another set of Blah blahblahblahBlahblahblahblahBlah blahblahblahBlahblahblahblahBlahblahblahblahBlah blahblahblahBlahblahblahblahblahblahblahBlahblahblahblahBlah blahblahblahBlahblahblahblahBlahblahblahblahBlah blahblahblahBlahblahblahblahblahblahblahBlahblahblahblah
www.wordpandit.com
How to challenge this WRITTEN MATERIAL?
The most important skill:
LEARN TO READ THE ‘BLAH BLAHBLAH’,
That is develop good reading habits and have the capability to read 400-600 words of condensed text.
Got to be able to read this:
When you shell out £25 or £30 for a hardback, what exactly are you paying for? I have always assumed – like, I imagine, most people – that the high cost of hardbacks is down to the fact that they are much more expensive than paperbacks to produce. 17. 17. What are the challenges faced while reading?
1. Lack of Reading Habit & Interest in reading
2. A slow Reading speed
3. Lack of comprehension & regression
How to solve the above issues?
www.wordpandit.com
18. 18. What are the challenges faced while reading?
1. Lack of Reading Habit & Interest in reading
2. A slow Reading speed
3. Lack of comprehension & regression
How to solve the above issues?
Problem 1: Lack of Reading Habit & Interest in reading
Start with subjects you like.
One by one, exhaust these subjects.
Once you are done, choose the ones you are not sure about.
Finally, get to the ones you hate.
The key is the start you make with your reading. If you start well, you can go up to any level.
www.wordpandit.com
19. 19. What are the challenges faced while reading?
1. Lack of Reading Habit & Interest in reading
2. A slow Reading speed
3. Lack of comprehension & regression
How to solve the above issues?
Problem 2: A slow Reading speed:
Time yourself with edit page.
Out of all the articles you read every day, note down the time taken to read any one article.
For the complete week, find out the average words per minute (yes, you would have to count the words in every article, if you read online, MS word will help you out)
Check the average rates for weeks.
In case you are a diligent student, you should see improvement in about 6 to 8 weeks.
www.wordpandit.com
20. 20. What are the challenges faced while reading?
1. Lack of Reading Habit & Interest in reading
2. A slow Reading speed
3. Lack of comprehension & regression
How to solve the above issues?
Problem 3: Lack of comprehension & regression
Maintain a summary of at least 2 articles that you read everyday. The summary should be a brief one, highlighting the main idea of the article. This way, your brain will be in ‘ attentive mode’ always, thereby building your attention span.
As an added exercise, for a few of these articles, write the purpose of the paragraphs while you are reading. This will form a roadmap of the passage in your mind.
www.wordpandit.com
21. 21. Key Points for Reading Comprehension
ALWAYS REMEMBER THE FOLLOWING:

Identify the key points in any text. Underline these portions to begin with and try to recall them when you finish your first read of the text.
 22. 22. Read as diversely as you can, that is as many subjects as you can. CAT challenges a reader from economics to philosophy, so develop as wide a spectrum as you can (read the sample articles given in the notes section).
 23. 23. Reading is a long term habit, do not expect any miracles. It will take time to build and for results to show.
 24. 24. And do check out the CAT sources given in the notes section. These are your best guides for what you should expect in the exam.

www.wordpandit.com
