  • Great video Lisa. Toxic people also include those who will not allow themselves to be helped and want to be the victim, no matter how much you help them.

  • I once had a friend, who I would follow around, but being with her never made me happy. It’s now I realise that the reason was cause she always complained about her life though from my point of view she was blessed. She complained about her parents not being supportive enough, her boyfriend not being understanding enough, then when she got married she complained about how her in laws were not good enough, how her husband didn’t care enough and I realised that that all I wanted from her was for her to be happy and she chose not to and in the process because I was spending a lot of time with her, I though I didn’t have enough and it’s ok to be sad and complain all the time. Had she chosen to count her blessing, I would have too and would have been a lot happier.

  • Sometimes you can't remove all toxic people from your life if they are a part of your job/your job stakeholder group. The trick is to keep perspective and choose your battles I believe in these instances. Believe in yourself, get the support you need to fight those battles and keep toxic people in perspective as I noted.

Love the bit in this about failing. There is plenty to be learned from failing and that is where I find the there is benefit in failing - learn from that failure, and then move on.

  • @undefined If I can be of help on this question. Have you gotten down to the root of what is ailing your mate? It could be that he or she is feeling unworthy as you succeed or may want to be a part of your mission and does not see where he or she fits in. Maybe counseling could help. I know when I tell my husband what my plans are, his initial response is to get upset. I don't allow that to stop me though. Once I finish whatever it is I worked on, he praises me because it turned out great. You see, you may have a vision for yourself, company and life, but those who can't see it are afraid of the unknown. Sometimes even reassuring the party that things will be ok, does not work. This is why you have to continue doing what you have set out to do until it is complete. People may not see what you saw only till you bring it into fruition . All the best!
