“Now you see me now you don’t”
Linking to OER sources on the web can be
dangerous when the website or sources goes
away without warning.
“Searching, I’m always searching.”
There is no end to the amount of time one can
spend searching for OER on the web.
It is not always easy to be sure that the material
you have selected is what it appears to be
without a great deal of careful study.
“The trouble with the curve”
There is certain value in consistency. Using a
standard text book allows the students and
the instructor to learn the style and rythm of a
single strong text.
Using OER materials puts us completely under
the power of the technology and there is no
telling what might happen.
