Is its beauty more than skin deep?
Way more. In fact, some of its most attractive features are beneath its sleek shape. For
example, Matrix offers you the option of either Front-Wheel Drive or All-Wheel Drive. In
the end, whether you pick the well-appointed Matrix or the sporty Matrix S, you’ll be
driving a car that does it all and looks good doing it.

Optitron gauges
Every 2011 Matrix features brightly lit, colorful LED Optitron gauges that look
sharp while reducing eyestrain. Crank up the engine and they come alive,
their needles completing a full sweep, as if to say, “Command center to pilot,
all systems are go.
                  ”

Suspension and engine
Part of what gives Matrix its sporty performance is the available independent
double-wishbone rear suspension1 that allows each wheel to act and react
to forces independently. This helps both rear wheels maintain maximum
contact with the road for enhanced cornering grip. Meanwhile, power is
handled by an available 158-hp 2.4-liter engine,2 developing 162 lb.-ft. of torque.
With the available automatic transmission, Matrix S achieves an EPA-estimated
                                   3
21 city/29 highway mpg rating. The key to such efficiency is Variable Valve
Timing with intelligence (VVT-i), a technology that adjusts valve timing for an
optimal balance of power and economy.

Available 17-in. alloy wheels4
The sleek exterior of Matrix S is even more head-turning when seen rolling
on sharp 17-in. alloy wheels. Wrapped in corner-ready rubber, they’ll help you
get a grip on all things asphalt.

Available All-Wheel Drive (AWD)4
When equipped with AWD, Matrix has the ability to go wherever the good
times are — even when the weather is less than cooperative. By automatically
distributing engine power to the wheels that offer the most grip, the AWD
system helps make the most of the traction available.

LONGEVITY FACT: The 4-cylinder engine crankshaft found in Matrix is
engineered to be slightly off-center relative to the cylinder. This design
reduces stress on the pistons and connecting rods, helping to result in
    higher efficiency and longevity.

                                                                                       1. Standard on S AWD models only. 2. Standard on S models only. 3. See footnote 3 in Disclaimers section. 4. Available on S models only.

What’s it like to drive on the edge of your seat?

Advanced audio systems
Be your own mobile mix-master. The standard audio system in Matrix
lets you plug your MP3/WMA player into the auxiliary audio jack.
Plus, the CD player will play back WMA or MP3 CDs and allow you
to browse or shuffle within a selected folder or the entire CD.

The available audio system can be controlled by its head unit interface
or the steering wheel-mounted controls, and offers a USB3 port, so you
can put music on a flash drive. The system comes with available XM®
Radio2 and has presets that can be mixed and matched. Use the standard
12V outlet as a charging station for your player, cell phone or games.

Can I share the fun?
We wouldn’t have it any other way. What’s the fun of driving a modern-day hot rod if
you can’t share it with your crew, your posse or just your plain, old-fashioned friends?
But beware: With seating for five and an interior as stylish as its sleek exterior, your list
of friends is quickly going to expand.

Dual glove compartment
Sized to get organized: Matrix provides a huge dual glove compartment
with a big, deep bin. Plus, a separate enclosure within the bin is ideal for
important papers that need to be kept close at hand.

Sunglasses storage
Versatility above all: The thoughtful Matrix offers a variety of handy storage
options, including an available overhead storage compartment 2 to hide
everyday essentials like sunglasses.

Available moonroof 3
In the accommodating Matrix, the sky is, indeed, the limit. With the moonroof,
you can open up the cockpit to not only the moon, but also the sun, the
stars and the glimmering city.

LONGEVITY FACT: Matrix features body panels made from double-
sided corrosion-resistant steel. Galvanized steel is resistant to rust and
corrosion — even if the paint is scratched to the metal. This added
    durability helps reduce ownership costs.

                                                                      1. Cargo and load capacity limited by weight and distribution. 2. Included on S models when equipped with available moonroof. 3. Available on S models only.

amount of versatility. The front passenger seat folds down, and the
rear 60/40 split bench seat folds flat to create an incredible amount of
cargo room. Whether you’re packing a sound board or a snowboard,
the ever-flexible Matrix has a seating configuration to match your gear.

DISCLAIMERS
1. Brake Assist is designed to help the driver take full advantage of the benefits of ABS. It is not a substitute for safe driving practices. Braking effectiveness also depends on proper brake-system maintenance and tire and road conditions.
2. Cargo and load capacity limited by weight and distribution. 3. 2011 EPA-estimated mileage. Actual mileage will vary. 4. Toyota strives to build vehicles to match customer interest and thus they typically are built with popular options and
option packages. Not all options/packages are available separately and some may not be available in all regions of the country. See toyota.com for information about options/packages commonly available in your area. If you would prefer
a vehicle without any or with different options, contact your dealer to check for current availability or the possibility of placing a special order. 5. Standard on S AWD only. Dealer accessory on S FWD. 6. XM services require a subscription
after 90-day trial period. Subscriptions governed by XM Customer Agreement available at xmradio.com. If you decide to continue your XM service at the end of your complimentary trial, the plan you choose will automatically renew
and bill at then-current rates unless you call 1-800-967-2346 to cancel. Fees and programming subject to change. Available only to those at least 18 years of age in the 48 contiguous United States and D.C. 7. May not be compatible
with all MP3/WMA players and like models. 8. iPod® is a registered trademark of Apple, Inc. All rights reserved. 9. The Bluetooth® word mark and logos are registered trademarks owned by Bluetooth SIG, Inc. and any use of such marks by
Toyota is under license. Other trademarks and trade names are those of their respective owners. The Bluetooth® wireless technology phones listed on toyota.com have been tested for compatibility with Toyota vehicles. Performance will vary
based on phone software version, coverage and your wireless carrier. Phones are warranted by their manufacturer, not Toyota. 10. Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) is an electronic system designed to help the driver maintain vehicle control
under adverse conditions. It is not a substitute for safe driving practices. Factors including speed, road conditions and driver steering input can all affect whether VSC will be effective in preventing a loss of control. Please see your Owner’s
Manual for further details. 11. Smart Stop Technology operates only in the event of certain simultaneous brake and gas pedal applications. When engaged, the system will reduce engine power to help the brakes bring the vehicle to a stop.
Factors including speed, road conditions and driver input can all impact stopping distance. Smart Stop Technology is not a substitute for safe and attentive driving and does not guarantee instant stopping. Please see your Owner’s Manual
for further details. 12. All the airbag (AB) systems are Supplemental Restraint Systems. All ABs (if installed) are designed to inflate only under certain conditions and in certain types of severe collisions: frontal and knee ABs typically inflate in
frontal collisions; side and side curtain ABs in side collisions; Roll-Sensing Curtain ABs at a severe tilt degree, roll or lateral G-force. In all other accidents, the ABs will not inflate. To decrease the risk of injury from an inflating AB, always wear
seatbelts, sit upright in the middle of the seat as far back as possible and do not lean against the door. Do not put objects in front of an AB or around the seatback. Do not use a rearward-facing child seat in any front passenger seat. The
force of an inflating AB may cause serious injury or death. See your Owner’s Manual for further information/warnings. 13. Active front headrests can help reduce the extent of whiplash in certain types of rear-end collisions. 14. The Toyota
Tire Pressure Monitor alerts the driver when tire pressure is critically low. For optimal tire wear and performance, tire pressure should be checked regularly with a gauge; do not rely solely on the monitor system. See your Owner’s Manual
for details. 15. The engine immobilizer is a state-of-the-art anti-theft system. When you insert your key into the ignition switch, the key transmits an electronic code to the vehicle. The engine will only start if the code in the transponder chip
inside the key matches the code in the vehicle’s immobilizer. Because the transponder chip is embedded in the key, it can be costly to replace. If you lose a key, your Toyota dealer can help, or you can find a qualified independent locksmith
to replace your key or perform high-security key services at www.aloa.org

It gives you leading-edge technology with hands-on-the-wheel functionality. 1 And equipped with features like available All-Wheel Drive, it delivers fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants performance, yet it achieves feet-firmly- on-the-ground mileage. It has room-for-people-and-payload versatility, all wrapped up in a sleek head-turning body. Finally, a car that’s equal parts fashion sense and common sense. The 2011 Toyota Matrix. Moving Forward. Every time you start off on a journey, whether it’s a quiet weekend away or a quick trip around town, rest assured — we’re with you every step MODEL CHOICES 2 MATRIX MATRIX S of the way. For more than 50 years, Toyota engineering has created more than just durable vehicles. It’s created enduring memories. 1. Available on S models only.

  • 4. Is its beauty more than skin deep? Way more. In fact, some of its most attractive features are beneath its sleek shape. For example, Matrix offers you the option of either Front-Wheel Drive or All-Wheel Drive. In the end, whether you pick the well-appointed Matrix or the sporty Matrix S, you’ll be driving a car that does it all and looks good doing it. S shown in Nautical Blue Metallic with available Sport Package and Premium Package; S AWD shown in Radiant Red with available Sport Package and accessory roof rack.
  • 5. Will driving it put a smile on my face? Say “cheese. From the moment you start it and the LED Optitron gauges come to life, ” you know you’re in for a treat. One rev of the engine and you’ll know Matrix is engineered to perform. Its smooth exterior has been honed so that drag is, well, not a drag. Combine that with a VVT-i (Variable Valve Timing with intelligence) engine that optimizes the intake valves to driving conditions, and Matrix offers not only responsive, torque-rich power, but also responsible fuel economy. Optitron gauges Every 2011 Matrix features brightly lit, colorful LED Optitron gauges that look sharp while reducing eyestrain. Crank up the engine and they come alive, their needles completing a full sweep, as if to say, “Command center to pilot, all systems are go. ” Suspension and engine Part of what gives Matrix its sporty performance is the available independent double-wishbone rear suspension1 that allows each wheel to act and react to forces independently. This helps both rear wheels maintain maximum contact with the road for enhanced cornering grip. Meanwhile, power is handled by an available 158-hp 2.4-liter engine,2 developing 162 lb.-ft. of torque. With the available automatic transmission, Matrix S achieves an EPA-estimated 3 21 city/29 highway mpg rating. The key to such efficiency is Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i), a technology that adjusts valve timing for an optimal balance of power and economy. Available 17-in. alloy wheels4 The sleek exterior of Matrix S is even more head-turning when seen rolling on sharp 17-in. alloy wheels. Wrapped in corner-ready rubber, they’ll help you get a grip on all things asphalt. Available All-Wheel Drive (AWD)4 When equipped with AWD, Matrix has the ability to go wherever the good times are — even when the weather is less than cooperative. By automatically distributing engine power to the wheels that offer the most grip, the AWD system helps make the most of the traction available. LONGEVITY FACT: The 4-cylinder engine crankshaft found in Matrix is engineered to be slightly off-center relative to the cylinder. This design reduces stress on the pistons and connecting rods, helping to result in higher efficiency and longevity. 1. Standard on S AWD models only. 2. Standard on S models only. 3. • 10. Half empty or half full? Try not to get too philosophical. Remember, we’re talking about the cargo capacity of Matrix, after all. Still, your deep thinking is understandable. When you’ve got nearly 20 cubic feet1 of space to play with, it can feel like you’ll always have room to spare — regardless of what you have in mind for it. And when you consider the slew of convenient storage compartments it offers, Matrix seems to be in line with even the most expansive cargo contemplation. Dual glove compartment Sized to get organized: Matrix provides a huge dual glove compartment with a big, deep bin. Plus, a separate enclosure within the bin is ideal for important papers that need to be kept close at hand. With the moonroof, you can open up the cockpit to not only the moon, but also the sun, the stars and the glimmering city. This added durability helps reduce ownership costs. 1. Cargo and load capacity limited by weight and distribution. 2. Included on S models when equipped with available moonroof. 3. Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) is an electronic system designed to help the driver maintain vehicle control under adverse conditions. It is not a substitute for safe driving practices. Factors including speed, road conditions and driver steering input can all affect whether VSC will be effective in preventing a loss of control. Please see your Owner’s Manual for further details. Please see your Owner’s Manual for further details. 12. All the airbag (AB) systems are Supplemental Restraint Systems. All ABs (if installed) are designed to inflate only under certain conditions and in certain types of severe collisions: frontal and knee ABs typically inflate in frontal collisions; side and side curtain ABs in side collisions; Roll-Sensing Curtain ABs at a severe tilt degree, roll or lateral G-force. In all other accidents, the ABs will not inflate. To decrease the risk of injury from an inflating AB, always wear seatbelts, sit upright in the middle of the seat as far back as possible and do not lean against the door. Do not put objects in front of an AB or around the seatback. Do not use a rearward-facing child seat in any front passenger seat. The force of an inflating AB may cause serious injury or death. See your Owner’s Manual for further information/warnings. 13. Active front headrests can help reduce the extent of whiplash in certain types of rear-end collisions. 14. The Toyota Tire Pressure Monitor alerts the driver when tire pressure is critically low.
