  • How to Check out eBooks from the Library on a Kindle
  • 1) Start at Wake County Public Libraries homepage, www.wakegov.com/libraries. Select link “Download Library”.
  • 2) Select “Find eBooks & eAudio”
  • 3) Select “All Fiction” under “eBook Fiction.”
  • 4) Click “Format” & select “Kindle Book” from format filter.
  • 5)Select “Available Now” to limit to currently available titles.
  • 6) Select a title to check out.
  • 7) Select “Borrow”.
  • 8) Sign in with library card number and PIN. Select “Sign In”. (Tip: to avoid having to type out number each time, check “Remember my login information on this device”)
  • 9) Select “Download” then check “Kindle Book” and “Confirm & Download”.
  • 10) Select “Get library book”.
  • 11) Sign in to your Amazon account. If you do not have an Amazon account, enter your email address and then check “No, I am a new customer”.
  • 12) If you have WiFi the eBook will begin downloading immediately (library eBooks do not work over 3G). If you don’t, select “Download now” to transfer via USB.
  • 13) Connect your Kindle to your computer. Select “Save File” and “OK”.
  • 14) Either save to, or save and move the file to the “documents” folder on the Kindle.
