SECUSOL - the smart drain back SECUSOL - the smart drain back Presentation Transcript

  • SECUSOL The Solar Thermal Appliance
  • SECUSOL Innovation Award winning
    • OTTI Innovation Award
SECUSOL is a patented, active, indirect drainback system.
  • SECUSOL The Solar Thermal Appliances + SECUSOL + the 4.5 KW heating element replaces any conventional water heater! = Solar Appliances
  • SECUSOL The Solar Thermal Applicances Sunarc-Antireflex Glass (AR) No de-arreator required Anodized Aluminium frame „ Matched flow“ solar control Full surface copper absorber with highly selective vacuum coating Heat resistant ultra sonic welding Up to 2.5‘‘ insulation Dual phase heat exchanger Combined filling and circulation pump
  • SECUSOL Collector Options
    • High Performance Option
    • EURO C20 AR-M
    • All copper absorber
    • Antireflective glass
    • Top of all international efficiency rankings
    • SRCC rating (Category C): 32 kBTU/day
    • Economical Solution
    • EURO L42 HTF
    • Laser welded aluminum to copper absorber
    • Low iron solar glass
    • Specially designed for the southern states
  • SECUSOL Tank Options 66 gal tank - One solar Heat Exchanger (HX) - One back-up HX - SUNGO US plus - With 3‘‘ insulation 92 gal tank - One solar HX - One back-up HX - SUNGO US plus - With 3‘‘ insulation
  • SECUSOL Simplicity of Installation and Setup Reduced mounting and component costs by 50%
  • SECUSOL The Solar Appliances The SECUSOL system is pre-engineered and pre-wired. That makes it is easy to install and reduces potential mistakes. The Wagner SECUSOL system can completely replace your conventional direct water heater.
  • SECUSOL Operation Range
    • Max. length of pipe run: 50 ft (one way)
    • 100 ft for the whole loop
    • Max. height: 28 ft
    • (between top of the collector and pump)
    • System with one or two collectors available
  • SECUSOL Mounting Options Flush mount Free standing
  • SECUSOL Mounting Options
    • Single collector
    • 2 collectors one above the other
    • Connection: serial
    • 2 collectors - next to each other
    • Connection: parallel
  • SECUSOL Glycol Why would we use glycol in a drainback system?
    • Corrosion protection
    • Freeze protection
    • because shit happens…
We run the SECUSOL system with 33% glycol!
  • SECUSOL System Sizes Locations: Orlando, FL & Boston, MA; Orientation 0°(due south); roof inclination 45°; first 2 person: 20 gal/day; next 2 persons 15gal/ day; 5th person 10 gal/day. • SECUSOL - The Easy Way to Avoid Stagnation Problems Protect solar liquid from overheating
  • SECUSOL System Function
    • How does the SECUSOL system perform on a nice sunny summer day?
  • T1: 80 °F SECUSOL System Sunction Early Morning Situation T2: 55 °F When the system is not running, no solar liquid is in the collector. The liquid stays in the HX. In case of a power blackout there will be no overheat issue.
  • SECUSOL System Function Morning Situation T1: 85 °F T2: 55 °F System kicks on when delta T between collector and lower tank is at 30°F. Heat transfer liquid is pumped up to the collector. The air is forced into the upper part of the HX.
  • SECUSOL System Function Morning Situation T1: 67 °F T2: 57 °F After the filling time the pump goes into the speed controlled mode. That saves electric energy and increases the efficiency. In the oversized heat exchanger is enough space for both, a perfect heat transfer and expansion.
  • SECUSOL System Function Situation around Noon T1: 203 °F T2: 181 °F When collector temperature rises, pump speed increases to maintain the standard delta T of 40 °F. The system will stop when either the max. tank temperature (182F) or the max. collector temperature (270F) is reached. Or when the delta T drops below 6F.
  • SECUSOL System Function Afternoon Situation T1: 203 °F T2: 182 °F When the pump stops, the solar liquid will drain back into the heat exchanger. The collector remains empty.
  • SECUSOL System Function Afternoon Situation T1: 203 °F T2: 182 °F The air will rise up into the collector while the solar liquid drains down into the heat exchanger. Overheating will never occur with SECUSOL! Max. tank temperature is reached. System stops!
  • SECUSOL System Function Afternoon Situation T1: 406°F T2: 182 °F Note: Our collector can easily handle temperatures way over 400 °F.
  • SECUSOL System Function
    • How does the SECUSOL system perform on a cloudy winter day?
  • SECUSOL System Function Winter Situation – with Overcast Sky T1: 34°F T2: 55°F When there is no solar yield, the 4.5 kW heating element will provide all the heat needed for shower, dishwasher and washing machine. Just like any other water heater. T3: 155°F
  • SECUSOL System Function Winter Situation – with Overcast Sky T1: 34°F T2: 55°F You could also use the upper HX and hook up your oil or gas boiler as a back-up for the winter. T3: 155°F
  • SECUSOL Preheat Appliance
    • You can keep the existing tank and still benefit from SECUSOL Solar yield!
  • SECUSOL Preheat Appliance Situation with no Solar Yield T1: 23 °F T2: 55F T: 155F When there is no solar yield, the water coming from the street will just pass the SECUSOL tank. It will be heated up as usual by the conven-tional water heater.
  • SECUSOL Preheat Appliance Situation with Solar Yield (Winter or Summer) T1: 190 °F T2: 150F T3: 160F T: 155F In normal operation, the street water will be pre-heated in the SECUSOL tank. Most of the year the conven-tional water heater does not have to fire. The heat will then be provided just by the sun!
