2. 5 W’s
Who? – People who are into fashion.
What? – They want items to match.
When? –They cant find an item of clothing to match something they already own.
Where? – At home, or out and about.
Why? – When they have a meeting or a job interview and need specific
coloured shoes to match with a dress, cardigan, suit or tie that they own
already.
3. Problem Question
How can we help people to quickly and easily find
new clothes that match an item they already
possess?
4. Problem
People who need to quickly and easily find an
item that matches something they already own.
5. Key Insight
People who want to find matching colour clothing currently have to
helplessly search shops and boutiques looking for the right item.
But this solution doesn’t work, because it can be extremely time-
consuming and frustrating, especially when you are with younger ones.
It can also cost you extra money- paying for car parks at shopping centres,
or even spending money on something that you know you’ll never wear,
due to the material or colour of the piece being a bad colour match.
Our key insight is that people do eventually find the right item, however it
wastes time, is expensive, and can become irritable if you have to do it on
a regular basis.
6. Our elevator pitch
• Our app, helps you search for clothes, makeup or
accessories, which match with a colour or patterned
item that you already own. By taking a picture of the
item using your camera feature on your device, it will
then give you the names of the local shops or
internet links where you can purchase to your heart’s
content!

go looking and as her schedule is quite busy
• Owns her own fashion and beauty blog- always reviewing different
clothes and makeup
• Owns an iPhone- uses it constantly for work and social life; also
relies on it to keep her updated with the latest trends in the fashion

8. Other competitors
We found a similar app which came out on the 24th of
February this year called Snap ColourPop
• However, we read the users comments which mentioned that boys were
feeling left out as the app was purely focussed on girls, where as ours will
be based on both genders.
• We also noticed that someone picked out on the fact that they would like
to see more shops featured on the app, which we would be able to
incorporate into ours- that would be what makes our idea different to
everyone else's.
9. User Stories
• As a user, I want Colour Snap to help me find matching colour clothing
easily, because most of the time the colour of the item Is not precise, and I
think this app would make a change in order to find the perfect match.
• As a user I want Colour Snap to make shopping quicker and more efficient,
because it can become frustrating paying for money for parking tickets
and items that I probably wont even wear.
• As a user I want Colour Snap to help me save time whilst shopping,
because I can never find what I actually came looking for, and then I buy
an item that’s completely different to what I wanted to find in the first
place!
10. Balsamiq
*This is a brief of our app shown by Balsamiq mock-ups, and changes will be made for
more exact colour choices, if we reach the competition.
11. Business Case
• …For example: their season colour could be different shades of blue- our
app would identify other pieces the same colour, and then the stockers
can go out and buy the clothes from where stated on our application.
