  3. 3. A habitat is a place where plants and animals live. Another name for a habitat is an environment.<br />There are 6 habitats in Georgia. They are the Piedmont, Mountain, Marsh, Swamp, Coast, and Ocean.<br />This PowerPoint will be about the Georgia Piedmont.<br />What is a habitat?<br />

  5. 5. What does the land look like?<br />The Georgia Piedmont is a land of gently rolling hills. There are also many lakes, streams, ponds, and rivers.<br />
  6. 6. What kind of plants live there?<br />Forests of oak, hickory, pine, dogwood, and sweet gum can be found in the Piedmont.<br />There are also many different flowers like the dogwood and iris in the Piedmont. <br />

What kind of animals live there?<br />There are lots of animals in the Piedmont.<br />Warblers, deer, rabbits, bats, skunks, squirrels, raccoons, possums, bobcats, and foxes live on the land.<br />Frogs, turtles, cottonmouth snakes, bass, trout, mussels, salamanders, and beavers live in or near the water.<br />
