The Corona Fastnet Short Film Festival 24th - 27th May 2012  The Corona Fastnet Short Film Festival is a  unique short film festival which takesplace in the beautiful seaside town of Schull in West Cork,  annually over the lastweekend in May. We like to encourage those who attend the festival as well as watchingfilms, to take part in the workshops and audiences with our guest directors. Over thepast three years we have had Q&A audiences with Jim Sheridan, Pat McCabe, GerardStembridge, Jack Gold, Kirsten Sheridan, Steve Coogan, Greg Dyke, Tony Barry, IanPower, David Puttnam, Sandy Lieberson, Chris O’Dell, Carmel Winters, Juanita Wilsonand many others. A town such as ours without a  Cinema provides those who attend the festival withalternatives. Distributed Cinema, Schulls very own intranet network dedicated to shortfilm. From a horse box  to  a micro cinema with eyepiece, a school bus,  to a cyclingcinema at the tented fringe, from a bookshop, to the village hall and to numerous localpubs and restaurants, Schulls network connects, through Ethernet cable and wireless  links, to its own short film archive on a dedicated server.  Continues Next Page 10

  23. 23. A Manifesto For Ireland: Making The Case For Sovereignty by Richard K. MooreThe EU, from the very beginning, has been a project to destroy democracy in Europe, and replace it with a bankster-controlled central regime. What is happening now is whatwas always intended. The collapse-bailout scenario was designed specifically to bringall EU nations/provinces into debt bondage (a.k.a. sovereign debt) to the banksters.Germany has been the most difficult target, but it too will fall, as it is dragged intoassuming liability for EU sovereign debt generally. Once that happens, then – wheneverthe ‘markets decide’ – the next bubble will burst, including $600 trillion in worthlessderivative instruments. Down will go Germany, EU and all. The Irish State, via the major party apparatus, has surrendered its loyalty and allegiancetotally to the EU project. Those folks see themselves as players in the Big Game ofEurope, and their duty as ‘bringing us culchies along’ with the program. Agreeing to bailout the banks was equivalent to signing a treaty, announcing the formal surrender ofsovereignty to the financial elites. Our local IMF overseer is not here as part of atemporary repayment program, he’s here permanently as our new Imperial Governor, not from London this time, not even from Brussels, but a personal agent of the banksterdynasty. In Italy, and in Spain, we also see Imperial Governors, appointed not elected, installedas heads of state, and in the case of Italy the fellow comes to us from Goldman Sachs. The pattern is clear, and Ireland seems to be leading the way in the sovereignty-surrendering process. That’s why we keep getting pats on the back from the EU. If wedon’t do something to change things, the future of Ireland is certain. I suppose ‘return toplantation days’ would be a reasonable characterization. Every asset, including ourwater, will be owned by foreign investors and corporations. This process of surrender cannot be stopped by fighting single-issue battles. Ourenergies are dissipated, defending one barricade after another, none of which are strongenough to stop the onslaught. If we want to have any hope of succeeding, we mustfocus on the one single issue that is of equal importance to every Irish person: we arelosing our nation; we are being re-colonized. There is no future for us unless we canregain our sovereignty and install a government that actually represent the people. Theloyalty of the major parties is with the EU, and whoever they put forward represents theparty, not the people. The only way we can get a government that represents us, is if weselect our representatives by some other process. To read more CLICK HERE 23
