  40. 40. Steps Step 1: Make sure to have an idea or concept clearly defined. Tools are helpful for layout. Human Interface Guidelines. Guidelines “We have over 250,000 apps in the App Store. We don't need any more Fart apps. If your app doesn't do something useful or provide some form of lasting entertainment, it may not be accepted.”  Apps larger than 20MB in size will not download over cellular networks  Apps that misspell Apple product names in their app name (i.e., GPS for Iphone, iTunz) will be rejected  Apps that include games of Russian roulette will be rejected

  42. 42. Steps Step 4. Development iOS SDK is used for creating iPad, iPhone and iPod applications from an Intel based Mac computer. based off of the Mac OS X Proprietary architecture called Cocoa. Cocoa’s native language is called Objective C, which is similar to C+ + The development environment is based on Xcode which uses the Objective-C programming. Objective C doesn’t call methods, it sends messages. Unlike C+ + these messages (methods) are handled at runtime. This can result in fewer unhandled exceptions (errors). Uses new Model View Controller methods.
  43. 43. Steps OS SDK 4.1 Multiple layers: Cocoa Touch, Media, Core Services and Core OS, allow you to program or access different aspects of the device. Core OS and Services allows you to access files, network sockets and other interfaces mainly coded in C. Build the user interface? Interface Builder. 52. 52. Greenock Scotland Greenock Scotland school, first school where all lessons will take place using computers. 105 pupils, between 5-15 until recently shared 12 laptops. Each will have an iPad linked into the wireless network. Teachers use it for internet research, to watch science experiments that would not be feasable to carry out in the classroom. Students look at pre-approved websites for lessons in english, math, languages and history. Improved the students time on a computer, before only 45 minutes per week in computing studies. 56. 56. MU School of Journalism Incoming freshmen at MU School of journalism are required to have an iPod or iPhone, although there is no penalty for not having one. Students are better able to receive financial aid to cover the costs of getting one. The premise behind having the device is to enable students to view lectures a second time, at their convenience. Brian Brooks, associate dean “Lectures are the worst possible learning format, There’s been some research done that shows if a student can hear that lecture a second time, they retain three times as much of that lecture”. Use Tegrity to record lectures.
