A presentation y Paul Kimera (ATC Uganda) on the development of the Uganda Technology Introduction Process (TIP) during the webinar on December 11th "Introducing and scaling up sustainable water and sanitation technologies". In the webinar we shared experience of developing the Technology Applicability Framework (TAF) and Technology Introduction Process (TIP) as tools towards achieving sustainable WASH services, and we introduced participants to the new resource base http://www.washtechnologies.net which is hosted by RWSN.

The webinar was organised by IRC, lead organisation of the WASHTech consortium.

Activity/ Milestone Orientation meeting on TAF & TIP for country partners TIP Uganda workshop; rationale explained, mapping of stakeholder roles, Identification of partners to steer TIP process TOR for GTI steering committee (SC) drafted, 24 members nominated and invited, Draft guidelines 4 SC meetings held; final draft completed, presentation to SC Official presentation of TIP to top management of MWE Official launch of TIP &TAF at 2nd National Water & Sanitation Technologies exhibition TIP and TAF integrated in DIM, training of sector in application of TAF/TIP, TIP tested on water treatment technology

WASH Technology Submit product to govt. agency • MOU signed with MWE • Forward to ATC for analysis Product screened by ATC Stop and rethink introduction in this context Pilot technology • ATC consults T.I.W.G. on locations • Champions identified • Product refined Validation of Technology using TAF • TAF assessment managed by ATC but done locally • Scoring workshop to determine technology potential in context
