    • Volunteer at the City of Edmonton Archives Position: Technical Support Assistant Location: City of Edmonton Archives Minimum Age: 18 Hours of Work: Minimum, 4 hour shift - any 4 hours between 8:30 am to 4:30 Thursday Term: A commitment of one year is required. Volunteer may be required to reapply for the position at the end of one year. Located in the historic Prince of Wales Armouries Heritage Centre, the City of Edmonton Archives is a public research facility housing civic government and private records documenting Edmonton's history. Established in 1971, the Archives is administered by the Community Services Department. Position Details:  To digitize archival records and historical documents for preservation or access. Volunteer Benefits:  Share your love of history with others.  Work with an experienced and enthusiastic group of volunteers.  Learn about Edmonton’s past and archival material.  Acquire new skills. Volunteer requirements:  Enjoy history and sharing history with others.  Be willing to learn about archives.  Have a Police Information Check done.  Be available and on time for scheduled shifts.  Behave in a friendly and courteous manner, treating all other volunteers, staff, customers and others on site, including children, with respect.  Be a team player; work together with your colleagues on the same shift to ensure that all the required work is being done and has been shared equally.  Contact the supervisor if you have a problem.  Be clean and appropriately dressed for the work you are to perform.  Adhere to the City of Edmonton’s Code of Conduct.
