  • On Aug 15, 2006, Cisco will announce the comprehensive update of the Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification program. We want to make sure you are aware of the planned changes, the reasons behind them, and to enable you to continue to partner with us to offer and grow this highly successful certification program.
    We originally talked about the coming CCNP changes at the Cannes summit last October. As we move closer to launch date, we now have more details to share with you, in confidence.
    By advising you of the planned changes now, we hope to enable you to begin preparations for these important new labs, courses, and derivative works before the August launch.
  • <number>
    In a nutshell, how would you summarize the skill set the new CCNP will possess?
    Narrate the slide, answer the question
  • Rita: What If a candidate has taken some of the old exams already? Do they have to start from scratch, or can they combine the exams to achieve CCNP certification?
    Ray: They can combine. No candidate will have to take more than four of the CCNP exams to achieve their certification, using what we refer to as “mix and match” logic
    Rita:I see, will you please explain that further?
    Ray: Speak to the following, provide an example:
    BCMSN =BCMSN
    BSCI= BSCI
    BCRAN= ISCW
    CIT= ONT
    Or will this be untrue? What has been decided?
  • What are the exact dates when you expect the courses and exams to go live and retire?
    We need to decide this: If standard, all recommended training associated with the retiring exams will end of life on date x (course EOL date is 60 days after announcement )T he last day to register for the retiring exams will be date y (exam EOL date is 90 days after announcement)

    The expanded professional level re-certification policy recognizes certification holders who have taken steps to diversify their networking knowledge and skills
    New skills empower Networking Professionals to keep pace with evolving network platforms, which integrate edge applications such as voice, wireless, and security into the core
