One major challenge K12 schools in our country face today is the non-availability of a structured Art curriculum unlike all others subjects. Also a big question, “Who and how does one take a decision on which Art form a child should pursue and how to evaluate his performance?”, remains unanswered. After 5yrs of our work and research in this domain, we offer to bring about a paradigm shift to the way Art education in schools is perceived and establish that learning art can contribute to the well balanced development of left and right brain, transforming a child into a more expressive and happier individual.
We currently have this program running successfully at our 4 fully operational open centers in Bangalore. We have deployed a well researched and structured Art curriculum with a strong evaluation system based on the parameters of Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation(CCE) and delivered by well trained Art facilitators, spanning over all the major verticals of Art namely Theatre, Music, Dance, Basic Visual Arts and Applied Visual Arts.
Schools and other organizations currently, teach limited number of Art forms, each in its totality. Our work starts a step ahead from that, and first introduces a child to all the possibilities in the world of Art to help them decide for themselves which Art form interests him/her the most before going deeper into any one particular form. We intend to do this through our pioneer offering Young World Forum, where kids in the age group 8-12 yrs are allowed to dive in 94 sessions of different art forms, opening a sea of opportunities. This program is delivered through our team of passionate, professional practicing artists, who are specially trained to teach kids using a well documented lesson plan.
My core team and I have been fortunate to have backgrounds in diverse fields like education, IT and fashion sector and having discovered our artistic inclinations at a later stage in life, we have closely observed how it impacted our personalities. It made us realize the amount of impact it can create if delivered in a structured manner at the right age.
