  • 3. Present StatusAs of January 2012, the SPC project is operational in127 high schools/higher secondary schoolsacross Kerala, with 11176 students, both boys andgirls, enrolled as Cadets and 254 teachers trained asschool-level Community Police Officers (CPOs).
  • 4. IMPLEMENTING AGENCYThe SPC Project is Implemented jointly by theDepartments of Home and Education, withsupport from Departments of Local SelfGovernment, Transport, Excise and Forest.
  • 5. In 2011-12, amounts received for the SPC project:• Community Policing fund: Rs. 59.80 Lakhs• Road Safety Fund: Rs. 100 Lakhs• BPCL: Rs. 10 Lakhs

  • 10. National-level Endorsement• Resolution passed in 41ST All India Police Science Congress held at Dehradun 2011 recommended all states of India to adopt SPC project which has been successful in Kerala

  • 13. CAMPS• Nature Camps – Sponsored by Forest Department – Conducted in most districts• Vacation Camps – Conducted in Onam and Christmas vacations – Organized in most districts except Malapuram, Alapuzha and Kollam Rural districts

  • 16. State level competition for the ‘SPC Quiz – 2011’ was held atRajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium, Kochi on November 14, 2011

  • 18. SPC STATE-LEVEL SUMMER CAMP 20128 days camp conducted at KEPA, Thrissur
  • 19. 552 cadets 58 CPOs (Teachers), 65 Drill Instructors and 50 Police officers attended the camp.
  • 20. 40 Eminent Personalities interacted with the cadets
  • 21. Plan for the year 2012 – 2013• Extending to 100 more schools• Bringing existing 17 SPC schools under the government support.• Rs. 2.20 Crores allotted from the Plan Funds.
