E-Commerce web design is generallydefined as the planning, creation andarrangement of files, text, graphics andprocesses used within an E-Commerceenabled website. The files make up different sections of thesite which typically include pages,categories, subcategories and products.
E-Commerce web design is commonlyreferred to as web design, webdevelopment, site design, sitedevelopment, shop design/development,store design/development, web storedesign/ development.
Web designs have evolved over the years fromplain looking designs with few graphics andlittle appeal to fully interactive E-Commercesites using the latest in graphic design andprogramming technologies. The days of simple layouts and designs arepretty much done with as competition increasesand more merchants are attempting to improvethe look, feel and usability of their E-commercedesigns.
