  •  Mukesh Ambani the chairman and CEO of the Indian conglomerate Reliance Industries Limited made it to the top of the list. The elder son of the founder of Reliance Industries late Dhirubhai Ambani is the largest Shareholder in RIL. He holds a 44.7 percent stake in the company.
  •  The second place has gone to Wipro's Azim Premji, a climb of two places for Bangalore's IT czar
  •  Ratan Tata, who held steady at the top for five years, has now slipped to third rank (after his retirement) He was the chairman of the Tata Group from 1991-2012. He stepped down as the chairman on 28 December 2012 and now holds the position of Chairman Emeritus of the group which is an honorary and advisory position. He will continue as the chairman of the groups charitable trusts.
  •  Kumar Manglam Birla is an Indian industrialist and the Chairman of the Aditya Birla Group, one of the largest conglomerate corporations in India. The groups is India's third largest business house. He is also the Chancellor of the Birla Institute of Technology & Science.
  •  Dhirubhai Ambani's younger son Anil Ambani came in sixth. The chairman of Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group, one of the largest private conglomerates in India, is also a member of the Board of Overseers at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He is also the member of the Board of Governors of the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur and Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.
  •  At the seventh position is, Sunil Bharti MittalChairman and managing director of Indian telecomunications company Bharti Airtel
  •  Anand Mahindra , Vice Chairman & Managing Director of the Mahindra Group Anand Mahindra graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College, Cambridge, Massachusetts and completed his MBA from Harvard Business School, Boston, Massachusetts
  •  Natarajan Chandrasekaran or N. Chandra, is an Indian business executive who is the CEO and managing director of Tata Consultancy Services. Chandra took over CEO on October 6, 2009. Prior to his appointment as CEO, Chandra was COO and Executive Director of TCS
  •  At number 10 is Aditya Puri, Managing Director of HDFC Bank. He is the newest entrant to the top 10 list
  •  The only woman in the top ten list, one of India's most powerfull woman, Chanda Kochhar, the managing director and CEO of ICICI Bank is at the fifth position. After graduating in 1982 she pursued Cost Accountancy ICWAI, Later, she acquired the Masters Degree in Management Studies from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai. She received the Wockhardt Gold Medal for Excellence in Management Studies as well as the J. N. Bose Gold Medal in Cost Accountancy for highest marks in the same year.
