Lou Rhodes is the Administrator in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at NYU Langone Medical Center. In this role, he is responsible for leading the department in building world-class clinical, educational, and research programs within the School of Medicine. He is specifically responsible for building the department’s brand value and recognition.
Lou has delivered quality assessment and improvement project work in industrial and educational settings based on Six Sigma, Lean, Change Management, Strategy Sessions, and Simulation. At USF Health and GE Healthcare, he worked directly with healthcare providers to improve their processes and systems -accomplishments that resulted in enhanced patient care, reduced costs, and increased revenues. He has led many projects that resulted in reduced cycle times, improved sales and service processes, and the development of effective branding and marketing approaches. He has built and delivered curriculums in the areas of leadership, process improvement, and strategy to masters programs and organizations.
Lou also worked for several manufacturing companies in various sales, marketing, customer service, business management, and process improvement roles. He served 5 years in the U.S. Army.
Lou graduated in 1985 from U.S. Military Academy at West Point, New York, with a BS in Management Engineering and earned an MBA from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1994. He is a certified Black Belt and Master Black Belt (GE Healthcare). He is married to Rea, a Registered Nurse Practitioner, and has three children, Cliff, Erin, and Nick.
