3. OBJECTIVES:
• To develop a park while retaining existing
green natural ambient habitat.
• To develop water bodies inside and outside
site as habitat for aquatic wild life and to
create bird watching facilities.
• Maximum cost-effective design and
execution of civil works.
• To use the structural advantage and
aesthetics of arches and domes for cost
effectiveness
• Harmonize use of traditional and modern
materials and technologies in construction.
4. FEATURES:
• Ac. 53 within Guntur Municipality abutting NH-5.
• Water logged land with black cotton soil.
• 3,000 trees of impenetrable jungle planted in l992.
• Perennial tank (daily inflow of 10 lac ltrs wash
water) with Ac.10.00 waterspread area and island
of Ac.2.30.
• Habitat for about 50 species of endemic and
migratory water birds.
• Group of three tanks with thousands of painted
storks, Black Ibises etc., located 3 KMs away.
• Beautiful nature with water bodies, greenary,
wild life and ambient atmosphere in highly
populated and congested Municipal
Corporation.
5. BUILDING TECHNOLOGY:
• The major hurdle in construction is water logged
BC soil.
• Load on soil is reduced using hollow bricks and
avoiding R.C.C. to maximum extent.
• RCC pillar-beam construction avoided.
• 20 feet long piles with bulbs for foundation and
TSection plinth beams.
• Entrance and exit building walls with hollow bricks
laid in rat trap method. For additional strength
and stability, 6” square concrete pillars were built
into the wall.
