What is Fast Start option in SolidWorks?

  1. 1. Solidworks Tutorial - VTN What is Fast Start option? Fast Start option comes with SolidWorks 2013 and later, and installs by default. Fast Start loads the SolidWorks components in the background at the time you start your computer, rather than waiting for you to launch the program.
  2. 2. Benefits of Fast Start! SolidWorks now has what’s called a Fast Start option. If you enable it, it allows SolidWorks to load a lot more quickly than usual, in just a few seconds rather than sometimes what can take a couple minutes. This feature comes with SolidWorks 2013 and later, and installs by default. Fast Start loads the SolidWorks components in the background at the time you start your computer, rather than waiting for you to launch the program.
  3. 3. How to start? You can find SolidWorks Fast Start under Startup programs, in fact, as shown in the image below:
  4. 4. Continues… However, if you’re like me, you prefer to minimize the amount of software taking up computer resources while you’re booting up your machine. The easiest way to disable Fast Start is to right-click on the program icon and select delete: After you’ve done this, the next time you start SolidWorks, it’ll load with the usual slower speed that it takes you to load the software and all its components (libraries etc).
