    • Videoconferencing Facilities in top Schools Page 2 of 6 Highlights: • Most schools have dedicated facility for video conferencing available to staff • Some of the schools have provisions to enable VC from all of their classrooms • Most schools have both IP & ISDN technology • Most preferred vendor is POLYCOM A typical setup of conference facility in most schools (Harvard): Gutman 343 is a high-end “corporate” level conference facility used for audio and videoconferencing. Equipment in the facility includes two plasma screens to display video and computer information. Program sources include VHS playback, DVD playback, document camera, and audiocassette playback. All functions are controlled via a Crestron LCD touchpanel. The room seats approximately 12 people if used as a meeting space; 6 people if used for videoconferencing. Gutman G05 is a distance-learning facility equipped with rear projection of computer and video sources. Program sources include a multi-standard VHS playback unit, DVD player, document camera, Windows and Macintosh computer workstations, and audiocassette recording and playback. The room is designed for videoconferencing and includes several push-to-talk microphones built into the desktops and permanently mounted cameras. All room function controls can be operated with any of the 3 Crestron LCD touchpanels in the room. The room seats approximately 25 people. Larsen G08 is the largest distance learning classroom at GSE. This award-winning room used as a classroom space as well as audio and videoconferencing space includes 2 video/data projectors, program sources include a multi-standard VHS playback unit, document camera, Windows and Macintosh computer workstations, built-in videocamera, and audiocassette recording and playback. Room function controls are via 3 Crestron LCD touchpanels in the room – one located conveniently at the instructor’s podium, another in the state-of –the art control room which offers more advanced features. The room seats approximately 90 people.
