  2. 2. Childhood Alexander Isayevich was born on December 11st, 1918 in Kislovodsk, in the family of cossacks. His father was killed in the hunt six months before the birth of his son. Alexander's mother was from the family of a wealthy landowner.
  3. 3. Solzhenitsyn entered Rostov University. In October 1941 he was joined the army. Initially he was just a soldier, and then became a lieutenant. In 1943 he received the Order of the Patriotic War of the second degree and the next - the Order of the Red Star

  6. 6. In September 1965 Solzhenitsyn’s archive got into the State Security Committee and the publication of his works in the USSR was discontinued. In November 1969 Solzhenitsyn was expelled from the Union of Writers. In 1970, Alexander Solzhenitsyn won the Nobel Prize.
