The totally restructured SAT college entrance exam that became effective
in 2005 includes an entirely new and very important Writing Test, which
consists of two main parts. First is a 25-minute period during which
students must write an essay on a given topic. Later, students must
answer multiple-choice questions that test their skill in correcting poorly-
written sentences, finding mistakes in grammar and usage, and correcting
mistakes in the first-draft version of a student essay. This manual
familiarizes students with all aspects of the SAT Writing Test and presents
review chapters and questions with answers that are designed to hone
test-takers skills. Also included is a helpful overview of the Writing Test
and details on how student essays are scored. This manual presents five
writing tests. The first introduces students to the tests format and the
following four are similar to the actual SAT writing test in length and

question types. All tests have answers and explanations, and come with
instructions on how students can convert their practice test score to the
familiar SAT scale of 200-800.

I purchased this workbook because i got a 500 in my writing section of the
SAT. It has some typos here and there but they are only blemishes to
anyone who can read.
Be warned: this is A LOT of work. If you don't have at least a month an a
half in advance to prepare for the SAT, don't buy this book. You won't get
through it. On the other hand, if you prepare well this gem will improve
your scores dramatically. There are rewards for every minute of studying
that you do with this book.
I was getting mid 500s in the writing section of the blue book SAT practice
test; now, after going through this whole book, i am in the high 600s-I'm
hoping to break the 700s threshold on the real SAT!
This book will benefit most those who have never studied grammar in
depth. My education has been interrupted continuously and as a result my
English has suffered. This book has TAUGHT me so many things.
and by the way... this is a GRAMMAR workbook; expect to be bored out of
your brains. But as i have said, there are rewards for those who go through
it.
