Wristwatch Annual 2009: The Catalog
of Producers, Prices, Models, and
Specifications
Despite Some Organizational Flaws, This Is The Definitive Annual Snapshot Of High
Quality Watches
Each year brings hundreds of new wristwatch designs, with aesthetic and
mechanical changes and improvements, limited edition watches, and new
producers, keeping this field exciting for collectors. Following the success
of last years book, this new annual features over 1,700 of the worlds most
luxurious wristwatches and provides color photographs and complete
specifications for each watch. With Wristwatch Annual, collectors have a
wealth of information close at hand: the book is arranged alphabetically by
producer, and within each producers section are specifications and
materials for each watch, including price, movement, special features,
complications, case, dial, band, and available variations of a particular
model. A glossary and pronunciation guide help acclimate the reader to the
world of fine timepieces, and, for prospective buyers, the addresses of all
featured producers are listed together. The elegant photography and
layout will encourage people to peruse the years offerings for aesthetic
appeal as well. The range of styles, from classic to modern, reflects the
inclusive nature of this book, which watch collectors the world over will find
both a handy reference and required reading. 1700 full-color illustrations

Personal Review: Wristwatch Annual 2009: The Catalog of
Producers, Prices, Models, and Specifications
I get the Wristwatch Annual every few years, changes are slow enough
that I don't feel it necessary to buy every year. There are some
organizational oddities in these volumes including putting contact info for
the manufacturers in the back, a glossary in the front, and some hit or miss
choices of watches to feature. That said, this is the go-to book for what is
currently being manufactured in the way of quality wristwatches. Be aware
that actually getting some of the watches, regardless of your financial
status, is harder than it may seem. Many of the most interesting watches
are sold out, or have long waiting lists.
