Visual Perception: A Clinical Orientation by Steven Schwartz - Presentation Transcript

    1. Visual Perception: A Clinical Orientation by Steven Schwartz Pass Optometry Boards With This Text. The only text for the optometric optics course in optometry schools! This concise, student-friendly, highly visual text covers the key topics in geometrical and visual optics foundational to optometric practice. Features over 300 illustrations, summaries and self-assessment questions, and case studies making the subject more clinically relevant. In addition, the illustrations will be improved with more original artwork. Personal Review: Visual Perception: A Clinical Orientation by Steven Schwartz This book is a must have for any 1st/2nd yr OD student or ophthalmology resident. It is definitely a watered down version of the Norton text (The Psychophysical Measurement of Visual Function), but the most important concepts are thoroughly described in an easy-to-read format. If you want to understand visual perception to the "MS" level, go with Schwartz. If you
    2. want the "PhD" level - go with Norton. For Boards, I'd say the Schwartz text is more than sufficient. Norton is fine, but you'll be wasting a lot of time on concepts that are not tested on NBEO.
