After attending a presentation given by Senator Kerry and his wife and co-
author, Teresa Heinz Kerry, about the topics in this book, I was inspired to
go home and read it immediately. Their insights, along with their sincere
approach to building public awareness around issues such as climate
change, the toxicity of today's world and the vulnerability of our nations
resources, inspired me to become a significantly more responsible
consumer.
After reading This Moment on Earth, I read more than 30 other books on
topics that relate to our food system, our cosmetics industry, energy and a
myriad of other subjects that weave together to form a complex web that
threatens the health of future generations. There are many challenges to
face and the clock is ticking - Senator Kerry made that very clear.
Thanks to their inspiration, a year and a half later, I have not only become
an environmental advocate in my own household, but at my childrens'
schools, our community and beyond. This book opened my eyes and
began an entirely new chapter of my life.
